The 2017 season was nothing to write home about for Carolina Panthers' fans. They found themselves down in the ditch sporting a 6-10 record and missing the post-season for the first time in 4 seasons.

The Carolina Panthers were suffering when it came to their secondary as the 2017 draft began, holding only 3 active CBs on their roster. Among other positions the Panthers were in need of they believed that a third shutdown corner was what this team needed most. 

At #22 the Panthers selected Wisconsins' Deon Talbott, a 6'0" speed machine who posseses great speed along with a strong football IQ, two things Carolina wants in a young up and coming corner. 

Last season the Carolina Panthers ended their season in the worst fashion possible, suffering a second-straight wildcard exit at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings. Coach Hendrix had plans to "reload" and not "rebuild" this off-season and the wheels began to roll when the Free Agent period opened up league wide.
