Cards
What should they do at the top of the draft? Should they take a QB? There’s a lot to consider here, but let’s look at the roster as a whole before getting into the QB situation. The team really needs players all over the secondary with the exception of Baker at SS. The front seven on defense has Ojulari but the supporting cast is nothing and I mean nothing to write home about. The offensive line still needs more pieces, particularly at LT and on the interior. And the team really needs more receiving options. If they cannot retain Brown then this unit is in anorexic shape. This Cards team needs a lot to just somehow be competent. So the big question is should they start over and take a QB? No. Several things to consider here. First, there is the dead money. We are talking massive guaranteed money for at least two to three seasons. Second, Murray is still fairly young and has plenty of room to get better/improve and improve his development trait. If you cannot improve Murray’s development trait then you have to be sure that you draft a QB with a higher trait, but the thing is, if you cannot improve Murray’s trait, what makes you think you can hang onto the draft picks trait IF you get lucky? Murray is still a good to great QB Maddenwise in that he has all the traits and necessary ratings. The problem is there’s not much around him on either side of the football to win games. To us the smart move for the Cards is to surround a good QB with a better supporting cast.
