Last season the Carolina Panthers ended their season in the worst fashion possible, suffering a second-straight wildcard exit at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings. Coach Hendrix had plans to "reload" and not "rebuild" this off-season and the wheels began to roll when the Free Agent period opened up league wide.
The Panthers would be without a few key pieces such as Bradley Fletcher and Tony Carter in the backfield, as well as missing out on a few linebackers that could have given them some depth, but these players should kick start the reloading phase of things in Carolina.
WR - Nick Toon / Ted Ginn Jr. (33 Receptions, 723 Yards, 7 Touchdowns combined)
These two receivers may need to fight to find playing time on a team that believes their receiving core is very young but still very deadly, but it never hurts to have some veterans to guide the younger talent in this league.
Toon didn't find himself involved very much last season with only 8 catches on the year, but Carolina saw enough in him to take a shot. Ginn Jr. was a shoe in for the Panthers as he is well known in the area and very adapt with the playbook.
DT -Jay Bromley / Paul Soliai (13 Tackles combined)
Much like their former situatons these two Defensive Tackles may not find much playing time to being with, but with the situation at Defensive End being slim in Carolina these two may find themselves rushing off the end more likely than not.
CB - Nolan Carroll II (39 Tackles, 1.0 Sacks, 3 Interceptions)
With Carolina losing out on the services of Bradley Fletcher and Tony Carter they were desperately looking for defensive backs with only Josh Norman and Bene Benwikere taking on active roles. Carroll may be battling with father time, but he still has some gas left in the tank and should be a very active role in the 2017 season.
FS - Thomas DeCoud (34 Tackles, 1 Interception)
Carolina decided to go with yet another former Panther to help out with some depth in the secondary. DeCoud could find himself slotted behind the likes of Jeromy Miles who is slated to back-up both Tre Boston and Kurt Coleman this upcoming season at the safety position, but lord knows one man can't play both safties at the same damn time.
