With the offseason activities in full effect, I sat down the with the coach of the 9 and 7 Oakland Raiders, Ramesu.

Hello Coach Ramesu. Thanks for doing this interview. This team went 9-7. Not a loosing season, but not good enough, right?

Coach: Thanks for having me, weed. Honored to do this. We were extremely disappointed with our 9-7 finish. The defense was really a sieve all year and we had 2 games that ended in our o...

I was fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to be able to play both of these teams in consecutive weeks this season, with both outcomes surprisingly similar. Moji and his Jets beat me 27-13, while Adel and the dog pound beat me 28-12. However, scores don’t always tell you everything.

JETS – The run game was atrocious on his end this game. He had 19 carries for 45 yards. He also struggled this game to stop the run, giving up 136 yards rushing....

Future Power Rankings

In other words, this is not a prediction on who will be the best in 3-4 seasons, just whose rosters are currently constructed for future succes...

Every team has played at least 8 games. You know what that means! Time to criticize the Je..., er, breakdown mid-season Pythagorean Win Expectancy. You've heard the spiel by now: point differential is a better indicator of future success than previous won-loss record, blah blah blah. If you need a refresher, check out my post from Madden 16.

Who's ready for some advance stats? Let's talk about how to evaluate quarterbacks. Take a look at Adjusted Yards per Attempt:

AY/A - (pass yards + 20*(pass TD) - 45*(interceptions thrown))/(passing attempts).

This stat has proven to be very indicative of quality QB play over time. Where as more common stats like yards per attempt and quarterback rating can be misleading and/or have arbitrary multipliers, AY/A tells us ho...

Coming out of the bye week at 4-3, the Raiders have cause for optimism.

After starting the season 4-1, with a huge road win over Baltimore, the Raiders fell in back to back games, to NFC West opponents on game winning field goals. The inability of the offense to sustain drives with 3rd down conversions and the overall conservative approach since Derek Carr went down vs. the Ravens have stalled the Raiders offensive attack and still it took last second FGs and some Antonio ...
