Through 10 games of the regular season, the Dolphins stand at 7-3 and are currently 1st place in the AFC East ahead of the 2nd place Jets. The strength of the team remains its defense, which is in the top 10 in yardage and points rankings, including #1 in passing yards and #4 in points allowed. While the rushing defense is a relative weakness coming in ranked #10 in the league, that still represents a major improvement from last season. The other notable difference on defense has been the ...

In this edition of player profiles, we are focusing on 2nd year passrusher Jaelan Phillips. Following an unconventional college football career ending at the University of Miami, Phillips was selected by none other than the Miami Dolphins in the 1st round of the 2021 NFL draft. Phillips rewarded that decision with a strong rookie season, playing in every game and recording 45 tackles and an impressive 8 sacks. So far in his 2nd season, Phillips only seems to have grown as a passrusher, alr...

The Broncos are sitting at 2-6 at week 8 of the MSR 32 season. We started off extremely slow going 0-6 to start the season. A multitude of issues were occurring and have been addressed the previous two games. 1. Rookie QB Wallner was struggling at the new under center pro style offense, drastically different than his spread college days at Texas A&M. The scrambler was struggling with his drop back mechanics and pocket presence. The slightest pressure would get him flustered. Alot of exper...[ Continue reading ]

Through the first 6 games of the season, the Dolphins sit atop the AFC East with a respectable 4-2 record. To say the team has played inconsistently in those 6 games would be an understatement and can best be seen in the play of QB Tua Tagovailoa. Tua has multiple games with passer ratings in the 100s; however, also has multiple games with 4+ interceptions. The offense is improved in most leaguewide categories compared to last year with the exception of turnovers. The team is hopeful that ...

The Dolphins' first offseason under the new coaching staff was an eventful one, with the team being active on all fronts. The team made multiple trades, with the first being trading away their 1st round pick and next year's 2nd to the Bears for MLB Roquan Smith, who the team expects to step right in as the top linebacker alongside Jerome Baker and fortify the team's run defense. Their other trade involved sending away HB Myles Gaskin to the Falcons for C Matt Hennessy and a 7th...

The Dolphins pulled off a massive upset on the road in the 1st round, knocking off the AFC North champion Bengals in Cincinnati. In that game they were led by strong efforts on both sides of the ball. On defense, Van Ginkel (recently profiled) came up with an interception in the endzone and helped force another one by hitting QB Joe Burrow as he threw the ball. For the Dolphins, Tua saved one of his best performances for the postseason, throwing 4 TDs despite the nationwide blizzard. It wa...

The Dolphins closed out their regular season with a big win over the division-rival Patriots that did not mean anything on paper, but may boost the morale of the team going into the post-season. They finished the season 10-7, good enough for the 6th seed in the AFC and a first round matchup against the Bengals. As it was throughout most of the season, the team relied on strong defense and good enough offense to win their games. The defense finished in the top 10 in most categories, includi...

In this edition of Dolphins player profile, we're covering LB Andrew Van Ginkel. Van Ginkel has emerged as a crucial member of the Dolphins stout defense this season, and is a large reason why they are in the top-10 for most defensive categories (including great names). It would be easy to think of Van Ginkel as simply a passrusher, and indeed he does lead the team in sacks so far this year with 7. This is far from all Van Ginkel does for this team, however. Van Ginkel is asked to play...

In this edition of player profiles, the focus is on the Dolphins' rookie WR Jaylen Waddle. Waddle has quickly developed a good rapport with former college teammate QB Tua Tagovailoa, with Tua repeatedly expressing confidence in the young receiver's abilities. The young WR has established himself as the number one receiver on the team, leading the team in receiving yards and TDs while being a close 2nd in receptions to TE Mike Gesicki. The receiver has done damage in a variety of wa...

At the halfway point of the new NFL season, the Dolphins are 6-3 and find themselves in the hunt for an AFC playoff spot. It's been more of the same since the last update, with the Dolphins relying primarily on a strong defense, 8th best in points, to carry them to wins. The offense has picked it up somewhat, improving to 21st in the league in points scored. The strength of the team on both sides of the ball is the passing game, with the offense ranking 16th in passing yards gained and...
