by Sliptom | 3 years ago | 1 Comments

In this edition of player profiles, the focus is on the Dolphins' rookie WR Jaylen Waddle. Waddle has quickly developed a good rapport with former college teammate QB Tua Tagovailoa, with Tua repeatedly expressing confidence in the young receiver's abilities. The young WR has established himself as the number one receiver on the team, leading the team in receiving yards and TDs while being a close 2nd in receptions to TE Mike Gesicki. The receiver has done damage in a variety of ways, taking short passes and jet sweeps for long gains as well as burning opposing defenses for big play TDs. The team has entrusted both and kick and punt-returning duties to the rookie as well, showing a high level of trust in his ability to handle a large workload. Waddle has rewarded them with 2 kick-return TDs on the season, tied for the NFL lead. Talking with the receiver, he will be the first to tell you that he has room for improvement, pointing out his team-leading 6 drops on the season and noting that number is "6 too many." His teammates and coaches are confident he will make those improvements and maintain a high level of play for a long time in Miami.
