The Kansas City Chiefs have clinched a first round bye for the playoffs after a week 17 win over the Chargers. The Chiefs are without their starting quarterback the entire playoffs, but will attempt to get by with what they have. Trevor Siemian was named the league MVP despite missing the final week of the season. Siemian will not be returning to Kansas City next season. Trevor Siemian suffered a torn hamstring in week 16, likely deciding the Chiefs' playoff fate, making them a huge underdog in any possible scenario. Siemian finished the season with the most yards per game of any QB and likely ends his time in KC on the DL. The Kansas City defense finally arrived in week 12 as the Chiefs took on the 9-1 Ravens and came away with a 24-10 win. KC had been getting torn apart week after week while having to outscore opponents for the opportunity to win. The script flipped this week, as the offense struggled to move the ball, while the defense held Baltimore under 300 yards of offense. After a loss to the Saints, the Kansas City defense has played bottom-feeding quality games in the past two weeks, giving up over 350 yards in consecutive games leaving the coaching staff at a loss. Luckily Dre Loane has provided consecutive 200 yard receiving games with 6 TDs as well. Trevor Siemian has kept up a career pace, putting up 350 yards in consecutive games including a 500 yard, 7 TD performance in an overtime game against the Texans. The Kansas City Chiefs have brought in two new weapons for Trevor Siemian, who is surprisingly top five in the league in passing yards. With a good group of receivers, Siemian will be able to air the ball out more often with a lot more confidence in Brandin Cooks and Dre Loane alongside Chris Conley.
