Only Way To Go Is Up

After a short hiatus the Music City Messenger is back in business and writing again. Where we last left our Tennessee Titans they were 0-3 for the season, and things were looking grim. Since since then the Titans won a convincing Victory against the Carolina Panthers, but fell short with three consecutive last-second losses against teams with losing records, bringing their overall record to 1-6 before they moved into their mid-season bye. Since then? the Titans were able to string together two consecutive victories, bringing their overall record to three and six on the season. This week the Titans hosted the Houston Texans in what could easily be the shootout of the week for the OMFL, walking away with a 47-35 win.

On a personnel front, the bye also provided a much-needed week of rest as two key starters saw their return from injury. All Pro safety Kevin Byard returned to form and has played well in his two weeks since the bye, and TE Stanley Coe's return has provided the much-needed dual-threat play that the Titans need from their tight end position. In other news, the Titans front office felt that it was time to pull the trigger and make a critical trade to shore up there struggling defense and relieve their impending contact situation. WR Tajae Sharpe and MLB Blake Martinez were traded to the Jets for LB Gillard Goodman, a second round, and a sixth round. They also got younger at the LAB position by trading the aging HB Demarco Murray and a fifth for LB Brent Brackins.

Moving forward, the Titans look to close out their NFC South tour by hosting the New Orleans Saints next week then traveling to Atlanta to face the reigning OMFL champion Falcons. It's a tall task to ask, but if the Titans can string together a few more victories there may be hope on this season yet.
