Game Recap

Year 9 Week 6 Vs Dolphins(6-2)

Score: 24 - 7 Jets W

Key Stat - DeShaun Watson: 23/23 , 226 YDS , 2 TD

Recap:

After finally dipping their toe in division action last week against the Buffalo Bills, the Jets looked to take aim at the division leading Dolphins. Despite not having lost to Miami since Coach Persinger took over, it was clear after their playoff game last season that the Dolphins had definitely started to close the gap. Throw in the fact that one loss could boot you out of the playoffs in the competitive AFC, this week 9 game had even more significance.

The Jets were able to move the ball at a methodical and steady pace all game and seemed to control the tempo from the jump. DeShaun Watson was perfect on the day completing all 23 of his passes and tossing 2 touchdowns as well as tacking on a rushing touchdown. Javian Hawkins finally flashed the workhorse ability Coach Persinger has been looking for gaining 134 total yards and constantly converting big third downs. The Jets defense was not to be outdone as they dominated the trenches and held Hubbard to 18 yards on 8 carries and constantly harassed Tua to a tone of 2 sacks, constant pressures, and led him to make a late, ill advised throw that Kevin King was able to make a play on and virtually squash any chance of a comeback.
