Best Damn Madden Lg Rules (Madden 25)
#1. Scheduling. 48 hr advances at 10pm EST. 75% participation rule*. Schedule games immediately after advance if possible. You must contact your opponent within first 24 hours of advance & show proof to receive force win. Owners must also be trying to schedule & lock down a definitive time. Delay tactics or other nonsense talk avoiding scheduling is unacceptable. Available time will also be looked at (must be available more than a 2-3 hr window each advance). Notify a Commish if your opponent does not respond at all, is being evasive, no shows, or can’t play. It is your responsibility to inform your opponent if you are running behind. After a 15 min grace period, either wait, reschedule, or take FW if a restart can’t be agreed upon prior to advance. Refusal to play when available is unacceptable. Conflicting work schedules will be straight simmed as long as it’s a reasonable schedule. Day of advance, if your game is unplayed you must notify a commish of a scheduled game by 7pm est, or game will be assumed to be a Sim. Screen shot of PM/DM or text (not main chat broken responses) required as proof of contact in all scheduling matters.
#2. Must switch up play calling. Same concepts are allowed however DO NOT call/audible/hot route or adjust to the same PLAYS in the same DRIVE or excessively throughout the entire game regardless of concept on offense. IE: do not call a stretch run in one formation and then stretch in another formation or repeatedly throughout the game, etc. 5 play Cooldown and 8 Play Limit settings. Playmaker is NOT allowed. NEW: No Custom Playbooks (select any Team Playbook & show in pre-game menu).
#3. During game play: NO manual motioning. No more than 2 hot routes per play. No non-designed instant rolling out with your QB on passing plays – must make 2 reads & being hurried to roll out outside of the pocket. No excessive hurry up – unless last 2 minutes of 1st half, losing by 21 in 2nd half or if limited time in 4th qrtr & LOSING you shouldn’t be hurrying up aside from once or twice per game to catch the defense off guard. Goal line (inside 10 yd line) & Hail Mary (end of half or game) formations only to be used as indicated in ( ). On defense, no manually moving multiple players. Manual moved LB’s & Safeties must remain 3 yards from the line of scrimmage until ball is snapped. No stacking on top or in middle of DLine. You must rush at least 3 on every defensive play. QB spy does not count as a rusher. No pulling DLine back into coverage unless it’s part of designed play AND you’re maintaining a 3 man rush. No glitchy kicks or punts. Onside kicks only in 4th if losing. NO Tanking. NO blatant player boosting (players will lose attributes & possible owner suspension or removal). If opponent isn’t obeying gameplay rules, send VIDEO proof. Streaming: Playoff games must be streamed. Game of The Week (If selected by Commishes or poll to be streamed as well.
#4. 4th down rule – You are allowed to go for it if it’s 4th & inches anywhere, 4th & 1 past your own 40 yd line, 4th & 3 past your opponents 35 yd line, or any 4th & Goal situations. Otherwise, KICK. Exceptions: IF you are down 21 at 2 min warning in 2nd qrtr & beyond you may go for 4th anytime to get within two scores OR you may go on 4th down if you are losing in 4th quarter and it’s a play to win situation. Also, if game is tied or it’s close (winning within one score – 8 points – TD + 2 pt conversion) you may go for it on 4th down ONCE within 3 minutes left in game (play to win or play to seal the game & put it out of reach up two scores). Fake kick/punt must follow 4th down rules.
#5. Chew clock is only allowed in last 2 min of 2nd qtr & last 3 min of the 4th qtr OR if game is completely out of hand in 4th quarter. Completely out of hand is determined by your opponent, not you.
#6. NO QUITTING or conceding games. Penalty of 2-game suspension and/or draft pick as determined by Commish group. And may result removal from the league. If opponent pauses the game, allow reasonable time before unpausing(resuming) /leaving.
#7. Desyncs. If there is a disconnect during the game, opponents will replay game with the score & scenario as it was when disconnect occurred efficiently as possible. If a user was winning by 21 points or more at the time of the disconnect in late 3rd quarter or beyond, that user may choose to continue (with points and scenario), take FW, or play CPU. If disconnect, you MUST show a pic or VIDEO proof clearly demonstrating the score, time, down & distance, etc. if you need Commish assistance.
#8. No roster manipulation (moving outside of players’ position groups or abusing salary cap in any way)l or anything deemed detrimental to the Lg. Must have a FB. No WR to RB or WR to TE. RB or TE to FB ok if = or < 82 spd & rbk = or > 50. NO S or CB to LB unless = or < 85 spd and > 225 lbs. CB to S ok if = or < 87 spd. Conversion to DT must be 285 lbs or more. No LBs to DE < 250 lbs. Do NOT have unqualified (per above) safeties in your sub LB chart or DE’s in sub DT. Inappropriate modifications will be overturned & may result in suspension/removal from Lg. Do not drop players just prior to any offseason.
#9. Trades MUST be approved. Send agreed upon trades to a commish and await trade committee approval. No trade teasing - If there is an offer and acceptance making a DEAL, the trade stands; otherwise draft pick penalty. Trading with CPU or drop trades prohibited. Draft pick limit of Round + 2 per season (no more than 3 1st round picks, 4 2nd round picks, 5 3rd rounds picks, etc). NEW: No trading Rookies their first year + No trading Free Agents user picked up in FA that same year or offseason.
#10. NO playing CPU team unless approved by a commish. Special rules apply (see Daddy League website Rule 10a).
#10a. NO playing cpu unless approved by a commish. If playing CPU, 1 play only. No more than 300 yds rushing; 350 yds per WR, TE or RB receiving; 650 yds passing; or 7 sacks per player vs CPU. Also, no more than 75 points vs. CPU except if CPU is within 17 points. 1 game suspension per player for within every 50 yds over per player first offense. 1 game team suspension per score over 75 unless exception. Multiple offenses will result in removal from lg.
