The SFL Bears 2021 Season Recap

The SFL Bears 2021 season has ended with the team missing the playoffs for season 42 of the league.  Coach Mynatt predicted that a 7-win season was likely based on several factors going into the season.  The team did finish with the predicted 7 wins, but no more.  The 7-10 record will not be acceptable moving forward in the Madden 22 cycle.

Despite the disappointment in not reaching the playoffs and finishing last i...

The SFL Chicago Bears knew coming into the season that it wasn't going to be easy.  A rookie QB, an average, at best, offensive line an aging defense, and a new offensive scheme were a lot of changes to implement in one season.  The result has been a disappointing 1-3 start.

Fields has looked like the superstar college QB they drafted at times and a struggling rookie at times.  He is completing 66% of his passes, but 6 TDs to 10 INTs and 13 sacks a...

Roquan Smith was injured in a week 5 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.  His absense was noticeable in the Bears' next 2 games without him in the lineup.

The Bears won in their week 6 game against the Packers, but only because of Jameis Winston and the offense putting up 45 points to include the game-winning TD with 0:18 seconds on the clock.  The Packers scored 41 points and rushed for 171 without Smith in the middle to make big hits and get the defense in th...

When the 2022 schedule was announced the whispers around Halas Hall were that the Bears could realistically be looking at an 0-6 start.  No one on the team would ever admit that, but with Vikings, Bills, Eagles, Packers (twice), and Panthers, the team knew that it could be a tough first-half of the season before the week 7 bye came.  And while no one seriously thought 0-6 was a reality, even the most optimistic of Bears' fans would be lying if they said they knew the team wou...

Philadelphia, PA

The Chicago Bears had their week 5 meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles circled the second the 2022 schedule was released this past off-season.  The Bears were bounced from the 2021 playoffs by the Eagles in an embarrassing 34-14 loss.  However, coming into week 5 both teams found themselves at 4-0 and atop the NFC standings.  Something had to give and the Eagles felt good given how well they played the Bears in Chicago in the playoffs.  The ...

The 2021 Bears re-signed Jameis Winston in the off-season and provided the offense with Todd Gurley in free agency.  The hope is that a more consistent running game will take some pressure off of Winston and cut down on his league leading interceptions (31) from 2020.  Neither looked to be the case week 1 at Arizona (0-1).

The Bears (1-0) did manage to win the game in overtime 16-10 but mostly on the strength of thier defense.  Defense has always been the glamorou...
