Week 2 Patriots Synopsis

Week 2 was a success! The Patriots traveled the Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. Boyyyy was it scary in the beginning. The first time Tom Brady dropped back was to get wholly womped and strip sacked. Which lead to only a field goal. The following drive lead both teams to a 3 and out and the Jaguars set up to punt with Cordarelle Patterson back to return. The punt was away and with Patterson muffling the punt TWICE the Patriots then got tackled in the end zone for a safety. SMH So at that point I thought for sure it was going to be a long game. But Bando gave too many opportunities to stay in the game. The Patriots were able to score on offense after the first half. And BOY the defense looked strong. The challenge is still out there for someone to try and have a good day running. Cause it isn’t happening just saying. The final score was 27-14 the Patriots move on to 1-1 and face the Lions next week. #LETGOOOOO #DOYOURJOB

Week 1 Patriot Synopsis

Week 1 was a bit disturbing. With many regards from owners like the Jets many people favored the Patriots to be the favorite in the AFC. Man did we go out there and prove them wrong. Tom Brady being recognized as the GOAT but then goes out there and throws 4 INTs. A wise fellow AFC rival Charles Bowie who has been alive sense god created the earth once said, “You need to figure out what kind of throws ya Quarterback can make.” Which is totally true I like how the feature to throw low point and high point passes but some QBs can’t throw certain ones. It seems low pointing is Tom Brady’s kryptonite because 2 interceptions were result of attempting a low point pass. But good news is we can stop the run it isn’t a secret anymore. I challenge any person to try and run on the Patriots because it isn’t happening. Sony Michel had only 8 rushes but showed great promise in his rookie debut. We look to do what Big Sean told us first “bounce back” against the Jaguars.

Phillip Dorsett a HB?

Phillip Dorsett has started an uprising. I have recently changed the wide receiver to half back because of injury circumstances. Once the 96 speed wide receiver was spotted in the back field it came to the attention of the SFL chat. The question was asked, “Does the league need to have more in depth set of rules on switching players to different positions?” I think Yes, I would like to see a more in depth rule set of switching players it would help people such as myself learn what the normal is for each position. Mostly size was the cause of the uproar. Does Dorsett or others of his size and stature have what it takes to be a half back? The only real example of a wide receiver turning to half back that is around the same size as Dorsett is Tavon Austin. Austin is 5’9 and 174 pounds. After Tavon was mentioned in the chat it was told to me that he is a “world class athlete.” Which is true in my opinion but Dorsett is 11 pounds heavier. Dorsett might just be really fast but he is still a hell of an athlete. Many of the greats that have played in the NFL have been of the same size of Dorsett. For example, Walter Payton was 5’10 200 pounds. One of the greatest halfbacks all time was of the same height and 15 more pounds. Also there was Barry Sanders he was 5’8 200 pounds. Yes, they are both 15 pounds more than Dorsett but they are 26 pounds more than Tavon Austin. All I’m saying is that Phillip Dorsett to half back isn’t as crazy as you think.

Other Examples

Darren Sproles 5’6 190 pounds

Jacquizz Rodgers 5’6 196 pounds

Dion Lewis 5’8 190 pounds

Noel Devine 5’8 180 pounds

Paul Perkins 5’10 196 pounds

Malcom Rice for MVP

Week 1 is here. The New England Patriots suited up to play the Denver Broncos. Aka Retard Robb. This game was disgusting. The Patriots played like dog shit. But by no surprise Robb played worse. The only bright spot the Patriots had was newly acquired Free Safety Malcom Rice. He was traded to the Patriots from the Super bowl champion Atlanta Falcons. The new Patriot ended 4 picks, one deflection, and 2 tackles. He adds that Free Safety threat that the Patriots haven’t had since season one with Devin McCourty. Will Grier looked like trash and had 3 interceptions. Somehow we came out with the W, but don't ask me how. I really like my team it seems complete in my eyes I just have to play better. Next victim on the schedule is the Bills. In the words of Big Sean "It is what it is, trust me you get what you give, BLESSED.

Season Recap

Just to recap the Patriots season as of now. We are sitting at 9-4 just coming off a huge division win versus the Jets. With only three more games remaining this season we are right on the edge of Playoffs with the Patriots in a win now mode. On the Brightside the Patriots are 4-0 in division play and with 2 more divisional games left they hope to end on a good note. The team ranks 3rd in points scored (37.0), 4th in YPG (421.6), 7th in passing (329.2), 12th in rushing (92.5). As for defense the teams rank 9th in points allowed (24.0), 21st in yards allowed (363.9), 25th in passing (284.5), and 10th in rushing (79.5). Defense was the key this offseason. It was one of the many reasons we came up short in the playoffs last season. Personally the points allowed has really improved. Instead of trying to win games only with my offense I was able to close games with defensive stands. Even though we have 3 more games remaining this season the team knows who their top performer has been. Matt Saracen aka QB1 has stepped up in a Tom Brady to Drew Bledsoe type of way. This offseason we had to say goodbye to the greatest player of all time, Tom Brady. With him gone the shoes to fill have a ton of pressure. We drafted Will Grier in the 1st round pick 28 in the hopes to try and get a stable QB for many years to come. With all that pressure he began to crumble. He averaged 13 touchdowns with 14 Int. With a young QB it is okay to struggle in the beginning of their careers so they can learn how to operate in a NFL offense. Well that was the case until Will Grier suffered a dislocated shoulder and was out for 5 weeks. Injuries sometimes take the best of them but in that situation its next man up. In this case next man up was rookie Matt Saracen out of East Texas Tech. While Will Grier was away QB1 was 179 for 275 for 2789 yards with 26 touchdowns and 4 Interceptions. Enough to remain the starter for at least the rest of the season. The remaining season schedule includes. The Dolphins (3-9), Eagles (5-6-1), Bills (4-9).

SFL Most Dominant....

Im going to do a top 5 most dominant rankings for most positions. I am not ranking offensive linemen, fullbacks or kickers and punters. This is not just based on overall. It will be based on games watched and played. Stats for the first two seasons will be put in consideration with my decision. Now this is my opinion, I would like to see in the comments and the whats app what everyone thinks about the ranking.

Playoff Breakdown

Buccaneers vs Packers

The 9-7 Packers travel to Raymond James Stadium to battle the 11-5 Buccaneers. The two teams met once in the regular season. The score of that game was 31-14 with the Buccaneers taking the win. I personally don't think it will be the same game and will be closer then some might think. Kwon Alexander is coming off a great season and winning DPOY. Steps user is real and people should tread lighly. In the week 7 meeting the Buccaneers had 6 takeaways. If Turk wants to win the game limit the takeaways but still move the ball. Some might doubt Ty Montgomery but he is real. Killed the defending SB champs on the ground. I 'd say run more pass less. But with a elite QB like Aaron Rodgers it'll be to easy to become pass heavy. Steps seems to have the anwsers for Turk considering he has never lost to Turk but Steps knows to #workhardstayhumble. From what I heard David Johnson is hurt and I'm wondering who is going to take the running workload. The week 7 meeting David Johnson had 20 carries for 20 yards. So if a scrub is running the ball Turk can focus on the Mike Evans show.

Game Prediction:

27-21 Buccaneers. It is totally possible for Turk to win this game though and I will not count him out.

Cardinals vs Cowboys

The 9-7 Cardnials travel to AT&T Stadium to battle the 10-6 Cowboys. These two teams did not face this season. But are friends IRL. They must have played before but who knows the outcome. The Cowboys have had some what of a rough schedule. Playing the "I wasn't tying" Eagles twice and the undefeated Falcons once. The games they did lose were close, but a loss is a loss. The new Cardinals owner has done well in the league. With trading David Johnson some might of thought he was doomed. He always keeps the score close and that is a good trait to have. With playoffs being new to the new owner I hope he thrieves in the moment. I expect this game to be sort of close. It depends on what Cowboys show up. The Cowboys have to limit the Fitz bombs and the passing game. Because the defense in the early half of the season was really bad. Hopefully they step up and play playoff football. On the other side the Cardnials need to keep the passing game rolling. The run game is a must for a successful offense to be complete. Hopefully I'm not wrong with the prediction and if I am I will hate you.

Game Prediction:

28-14 Cowboys. I respect the Cardinals and he can win this game.

Gronk phone home.

With all the craziness going on in the SFL like the Cowboys finding a Coach gem two games into the season, Aaron Donald wanting to not be in a Rams uniform, and Michael Thomas being moved to Arizona. Things have been shifty and full of buzz. Well if you thought I wrote this to tell you it’s almost over your wrong. Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots was offiacialy put on the trade block Thursday night. After so many years of Gronk spikes, and crazy Gronk cruises it will soon come to a end in New England. The tight end has voiced his thoughts on being on the trade block, “I’m the life of the party, everybody wants some Gronk including Thetruth1566’s wife. Someone out there will want me. I know the Patriots mean well and I’ve loved my time here with them and I will always call this place home. But when the organization does this you know it’s time to go”. What a Gronk way to go out, taking shots at someone’s wife how savage. The Patriots said, “Yes, Rob is on the block but we know what he’s worth and will keep him until the offer is right.

The fight to break the curse....

After the week 1 disappointing loss to the Vikings. The Patriots went into week 2 with high hopes to get back on track. The GOAT showed up going 6/10 with 163 yards with one TD. Not too shabby but then suffered back strains and took an early exit from the game to the nursing home. Jimmy G entered the ball game and went 15/22 with 279 yards and two TD’s. The Patriots offense hasn’t really woken up this year look for them to try and stat pad in the recent weeks. The defense was a little shaky but an interception and 2 QB tackles for rookie 1st round pick Porter Gustin. At such a young age look for him to shine in upcoming seasons. Jeremy LangGOD had a nice day with 80 yards rushing on 9 attempts and 3 TD’s guy is a monster in the red zone you can even ask the eagle’s owner. Coach Mike Tookus has been very vocal about many things this season but has continued to say his Oline is on the block. He followed by adding he is looking for linebackers to help the young rookie strive for success.

INSTANT CLASSIC

WHAT A GAME! A game that will surely go down as one of the best in SFL history! After Jimmy G completely shit on the Jets defense his hopes were high to carry over the mentality. Jimmy G had a not so good day, having 288 yards passing with 3 touchdowns. Although on the bright side he didn't throw a pick till the 3rd quarter. Matt Ryan on the other hand had himself a game throwing for 454 yards with 3 touchdowns. In the first half however Ryan seemed very flustered and threw 3 picks as a result. He had a spectacular last drive with throwing a Peyton Manning duck to his 99 overall wide receiver Jesus Christ. Aka Julio Jones. Who caught it and took it to the house with 18 seconds left. With the Patriots organization being very pissed off at cornerback Eric Rowe for getting mossed. A game that will never be forgotten. If you are a nosy bastard you can watch the last 2 minutes of the shit YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/PT_IRTfJmEI Through it all deepest regards to Mr. Love you were a great opponent.....

P.S. RIP Vic Beasley

Wheres Butler?

Where's BUTLER? This weeks "Where's ______? is Malcom Butler. Recently acquired from the New England Patriots for Justin Evans a rookie and a 2018 1st round pick. Some would say a steal of a trade for a lock down corner but after Butler got his walking papers the Buccaneers played his former team in the Patriots. He had a very quiet day with only 4 tackles. With the buccaneers being number 1 in fewest points allowed then allowing 417 passing yards and 124 rushing yards will this trade be relevent? The rookie they traded Justin Evans had a big day as a rookie and caught 2 interceptions in his Patriots deput. Look for Butler to show up sometime this season. He might have to have time to adjust to the new defense.

Player to Watch

This Weeks Player to watch is Dalvin Cook Florida State has had a slew of talented running backs over the past 30 years, but Cook was the first to break the 1,000-yard barrier in his first season with the team. The next two seasons have only gotten better, ranking in the top 10 by breaking 1,600 yards (1,691 in 2015 ranked sixth in the FBS, 1,765 in 2016 ranked fifth), scoring 19 times as a rusher, and earning first-team All-ACC accolades each year. The speedy and shifty back was also named 2016 first-team All-American by the Associated Press and Walter Camp Foundation, among others. NFL teams will be interested in his medical checks, though, because of the hamstring issues he had throughout the 2015 season and the three shoulder surgeries he's had since high school. Cook tore his rotator cuff in high school, then tore the front part of his labrum in 2014, and the back part of the labrum in 2016. He's also had run-ins with the law, starting in high school (robbery in 2009, charges dropped; firing and possessing a weapon on school property in 2010, charges drooped) and then again in 2015, where he was charged with misdemeanor battery outside a bar (found not guilty). The former Florida State Seminole finds a new home as a Minnesota Viking. By most people was thought as a draft steal, he was drafted in the 2nd round pick 9. Some strengths looking into his rookie year. He uses choppy feet and compact stride length downhill. Keeps feet under him and is able to make lateral cuts at a moment's notice. Flourished in zone, gap and power schemes at FSU. At his best running wide while setting up lead blockers. Slows flowing safeties and linebackers with hesitation steps and glances back inside. Has run-away gear around the corner he keeps tucked away for special occasions. Darting style allows him to escape defenders who show gap commitment too soon. Plus vision. Quick to flow from first to second read on outside zone plays. Greedy red zone runner with ability to cash those checks. The brighter the lights, the bigger his game. Comfortable in both one-back and two-back groupings. Rare ability to cut it all the way back across the grain. Changes direction with degree of subtlety on second level without gearing down. Not much of a dancer. Tends to get hit it up the field. Feet in constant state of motion. Despite drops, can be dangerous out of backfield. I don’t know about everyone else but I’m excited to see what transpires with this young man. dalvin-cook-080817-usnews-getty-ftr_w9qqq1v70o2g1ubcxtfiyj528.jpg (960×540)

Week 1 is here!

It’s finally that glorious time of the year again. Football is back, and come September 7th, we can start enjoying regular season football for the first time since last January. The Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots will kick off the season at home against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. We all know what this means for the longstanding quarterback in Tom Brady. He has sealed his name as one of the Goats of the NFL. Will he solidify himself as the King? With the edition of Brandin Cooks, and Phillip Dorsett the Patriots look to set the stage with their fast pace offense. “It will end in a shootout”, New England’s coach said on Tuesday. The Patriots want to win the Superbowl again but right now are going play for a different reason. The Patriot family has suffered a loss on Wednesday 19 year old water boy Bryce Kupfner passed away in a grease fire at his part-time job at Chickfla. He served as the water boy at home games and loved every minute of it. The Patriots got a jersey in his honor and will take it with them to every game this season. The Patriot family have sent there deepest regards to his family, he will be truly missed.
