Bucs Buckle Up

Bucs Buckle Up

With a new season comes new hope, and that is what the Bucs have... NEW HOPE!
The team will be lead by "THE GOAT" Tom Brady who is still capable at playing a high level even at 44 yrs old.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | History, Super Bowl, & Notable Players | Britannica

This team goes as far as Tom Brady can take them!

Brady can only do so much tho as, the O-Line has to block, and guys have to get open to catch the ball.
So who is Brady throwing toooooo????
Probably one of the best WR groups in the SFL lead by #13 Mike Evans
Heavy on Buccaneers | Heavy.com

Evans has had the sure hands and great route running ability to stay open, even better than 7-11 stores. Evans also has a knack for turning short passes into points, and the Bucs are counting on that coming into this season!

What about the other side of the ball? You say...

Well the Defense has the potental to really dominate this season but,  can the young players put it all together to make that happen? This remans as one of the biggest questions headed into this season!
Look for the young Safeties to make a larger impact early on.

Titans Look Ready To Go

The Titans finished up their training camp with a chip on their shoulder and look to come out of the gate ready to go. The Playoffs didn't go as planned last season and the Titans are ready for a second chance. The team looks really strong on Defense going into the season but there are some concerns on the O-Line. The titans plan to possibly rotate the Rookie into the line up but caution has been aired as the rookie has shown some struggles in practice.

3rd year QB Purdy said the team is hungry, and feels like they maybe ready to step up to the next level. He said he and the WR core has had some additional work this offseason and hope to show it on the field NFL: Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans First up is the tough Colts team! "Titan"-UP

Buccaneer's Cove: Midseason Report

The Tampa Bay Bucs have made it to the halfway point of the season at 4-4 keeping them at the 500 mark.

Mike Alstott has said, he likes the scrappiness of his team, and realizes that they don't have the talent like some in the division, but that won't stop them from putting out their best effort.
He also said he is pleased with all phases right now, but for his team to exceed and succeed they must get a running game going.

Mike- "We run decent outside the 20's, but when we get down inside the 5 we can't seem to punch it in, everyone knows we have went 8 games with no rushing TD's, and it has to change the second half of this season"

One player that is stepping up on the team is WR Dixon Doucet, he has only started 4 games and is putting Pro Bowl numbers, look for him to keep getting more playing time as the season rolls along!

On the Defensive side of the ball the Bucs have been a bend but don't break D looking for turnovers.
The team is lead by former Dallas Cowboy Jaylon Smith with 8 INT's, and a FF, with two picks returned for TD's,
The one weak spot on the team is our two young Safeties, they are growing and getting better each week, but we must continue to coach those guys up and have them prepared and ready to take on the next team on the schedule.

One thing is for sure, the Bucs have put up good numbers vs very good teams this season, lets see if they can snatch a winning record in Season 80 of the OMFL

Lions Lay Down and Packers Embarrass the Lions at Home 45-24

Lions coach Matthew Madden was livid after the embarresment of a game his team put on the field, and threatned to bench everyone if this trend contiunes. Lions fumbled, stummbled, and handed the Packers a easy win in front of the home crowd. the Packers, seen to do as they wished in the game scorching the Lions for 500+ yards of Offense.

Lions head Coach Madden left the field in a hurry, after the loss, and was not very open in the post game interview, just stating we have a long ways to go, and a short time to get there. Lions have a tough road ahead if they plan to make the playoffs this season

It's the Lions, not the Tigers, that Make the Bears Go Bye Bye

The Lions came into the game on a two game losing streak, and a heartbreaking lose to the LA Rams.
The familiar divsion foe Chicago Bears were the ones up next and both teams at 0-2 someone had to come out a winner.
The Lions lead by Brent Blalock lead the offensive charge, and got things rolling getting the team in the endzone not once, not twice, but 4 times in the endzone.

The Offense looked like it has started to get there feet under them a bit, but it remains to be seen if they can make this a normal way or if they will fail to keep it going.
RB Spurlock is turning into a TD Machine in the Redzone scoring 2 of 3 rushing TD's and put up a solid 90  plus yards on the ground.

Spurlock has yet to put together a 100 yard game, but that will change with the level of play he is showcasing in his Rookie season.

Rams D-Line Butts the Home Opener for Blaylock

The Lions started the game on fire after the offense drove the field and score on a pass form Blaylock to Watkins in the middle of the 1st. The Lions would kickoff and pin the Rams inside the 20 yard line before the Rams would start moving the ball into Lions territory. The Lions Defense would stiffen and cause a turnover that lead to a scoop and score from LBer Brandon Griffith for 60 yards.
That would be the end of the scoring on the day for the Lions as the Rams D would take the game over and dismantle the Lions O-Line

QB Blaylock finished with 150 yards, a fumble, 2 INt's with 1 TD pass coming in the first qtr.
Rookie RB Spurlock showed flashes, but just could not seem to break the big play as he was moments away from breaking the big play several times.
The Lions look to rebound vs the Bears and get their first win of the 2020 season. Stay tuned for more Lions news here on the Lions Den Network

Lions Have Night "Mares" With the Colts

The Lions entered the week 1 game with high hopes that QB Brent Blaylock could lead his team to a victory, but that effort would fall short.
The Lions offensive woes continued from last season as the team struggled to cement a running game for the young signal caller. FA RB Jay Ajayi had a very rough game to start the season, and if not for a late 30 yard run in the 4th he would have totaled a mere 12 yards for the game.

Coach Matt Madden had this to say after the game..
Well we played pretty poorly tonight on both sides of the ball, and really need focus on getting our running game going. Ajayi was a little slow tonight and didnt have the pop he had showed in practice. The young Spurlock and some good runs last night, and I think it would be safe to say he has earned the right to start our next game in LA vs the Rams.
We'll take it day to day and see what happens. Our Defense needs to work on getting the offense off the field on 3rd downs and saw the Colts convert on a few long 3rd down tries.
We'll just hit it hard in practice and the film room and see if we can't get this thing moving in the right direction.

Thanks

Well lets hope our Lions can turn it around and make a run to the playoffs this season. Stay tuned for more Lions Den News

Lions Draft Next Face of the Franchice

The Lions turned in a solid draft Sunday night selecting, two blue chip players in QB Blaylock, and RB Spurlock. The Lions seemed "locked"in (pun intended)
both players are top rated players at their positions, and could be real Game Changers before the seasons over. There were some other picks later in the rounds, but these two are in the spotlight of a hurting franchise that needs help regaining some of its former glory.

Things still remain unseen, and this is a put up or shut up season for the Lions.

The New Look Lions

The Lions have been moving and shaking the roster all offseason, and it started by cutting cost and poor managment by the former GM
Lions gave walking papers WR Allen Hurns, and QB Carson Wentz who was brought in midseason, but failed to show much promise to the Coaching staff.  the Lions didn't stop there and begain Free Agency with a bang by wining the services Center / Guard Travis Fredrick, and sevreal other players.
Then to top it off the Lions have turned the #6 pick into WR Sammy Watkins, and still having a pick in the 1st round along with picking up more picks for the night.

One thing is for sure this team will not be the same as last year, and is staring to take the shape of Coach Matthew Madden as things unfold

He should fit very well. 3-4 Versatile was exactly what I was looking for in a D-Linemen.

He will be competing for a starting job this season

Do you view him as a impact player?
If he can improve his strength over time I believe he can impact the line of scrimmage for years to come.

Do you believe this guy will be someone to build the franchise around?
He won't be 'the guy' on the team but definitely a solid piece on a playoff team

Actual in Game Photo from a Browns game last year. Smallest known player ever to play the game also died that day. No one knows what really happened that day. Thank God it’s just a game!

What intrigued you the most about your 1st round pick?
I only had the 2nd round picks, but all had good or decent grades with a decent combine. I drafted my first one because he was highest on my board and needed that position after that I went best available in the draft.

Was this player drafted for need, or did the organization draft the best available player on your board? Best of the Board really

How do you think he fits your scheme?
Think all three of these guys are day 1 starters though I have veterans who could play in front while I develop these guys. Getting 3 starters in the place I did I'm very pleased. They are going to have shoe they can play on the field

Will this player compete for a starting job this season, or are you looking to develop him for the future?
I'm really not sure possibly the free safety could but he's going have to prove himself. The linebacker I think will start and my lineman I really like but has a veteran in front of him. Depends how the first games decide really win lose we start losing during our season the rookies will play. I know the veterans already

Do you view these as a impact players? YES!

Do you believe this guy will be someone to build the franchise around? Possibly my linebacker

OK, well hope you enjoy the read, and the humor from the post I’l get the next two interview post out this week!

OMFL Draft Interview: Redskins

Hello and Welcome to the Season 70 Draft Experience brought to you in part by- DR Pepper, Frito-Lay, and the OMFL

We had a very intriguing draft night, and we had some great picks come off the board, and right onto teams starting lineups. We wanted to give a complete draft experience from owner to players, and see just what caught the eyes of the guys making the picks. We had 12 guys participate in the draft experience, and will be releasing 1-12 separately over the next few days. Let’s get right to the first look at these top draft choices from the OMFL Season 70 Draft.

Next up we have Coach Shanahan of the Redskins. The Redskins coach found themselves with the first pick in the draft after a winless season occurred in Washington. Then they turned that into 3 first round picks, so I see that as good management. We tried getting some pictures of their new draft choices, but heck the coach here does not allow pics, and when we tried to send a drone in… HE HAD IT SHOT IT DOWN!!! YES SHOT!

Anyway… Two guys he kept referring to over and over were TE- B.J.  Lyons and , LB-  James Ambrose
47 days until M16.jpg
This is a photo taken by an unnamed source. Rumor has it the person who took this picture is now missing. Yikes!

Both players have what it takes to make it in this league, and make an impact for the Redskins for season to come.Time will only tell if these moves can help push the team over the top, or if they will be picking top 10 again.

What intrigued you the most about your 1st round pick?

I had 3 1st round picks and to be fair. I originally had the 1st overall pick but traded up to get 2 1st round picks for it. Also traded multiple picks for my 3rd 1st. So my 1st pick was number 16 and i was looking over my team and thought hey ill go offense with this pick and take the tight end who ended up being a solid pick to go along Jordan reed. My 2nd first i ended up going defense cause i needed a few things to finish my rebuild so i ended up taking a beast linebacker. My 3rd 1st ended up being a dt which i thought i can use for my dline
Was this player drafted for need, or did the organization draft the best available player on your board?

All 3 was for needs no doubt
How do you think he fits your scheme?

I think imo that the players i drafted will fit perfect.
Will this player compete for a starting job this season, or are you looking to develop him for the future?

My tight end will be my number 2 he will play. My linebacker he will instantly start right away. And my dt will looking to develop for the future
Do you view him as a impact player?

Yes i do all my players will make a huge impact. Went full rebuild mode in offseason.
Do you believe this guy will be someone to build the franchise around?

O ya i believe washington will deftly put up a fight big time.
