Buccaneer's Cove: Midseason Report

by Madden_Maniac-9 | 6 years ago | 0 Comments

The Tampa Bay Bucs have made it to the halfway point of the season at 4-4 keeping them at the 500 mark.

Mike Alstott has said, he likes the scrappiness of his team, and realizes that they don't have the talent like some in the division, but that won't stop them from putting out their best effort.
He also said he is pleased with all phases right now, but for his team to exceed and succeed they must get a running game going.

Mike- "We run decent outside the 20's, but when we get down inside the 5 we can't seem to punch it in, everyone knows we have went 8 games with no rushing TD's, and it has to change the second half of this season"

One player that is stepping up on the team is WR Dixon Doucet, he has only started 4 games and is putting Pro Bowl numbers, look for him to keep getting more playing time as the season rolls along!

On the Defensive side of the ball the Bucs have been a bend but don't break D looking for turnovers.
The team is lead by former Dallas Cowboy Jaylon Smith with 8 INT's, and a FF, with two picks returned for TD's,
The one weak spot on the team is our two young Safeties, they are growing and getting better each week, but we must continue to coach those guys up and have them prepared and ready to take on the next team on the schedule.

One thing is for sure, the Bucs have put up good numbers vs very good teams this season, lets see if they can snatch a winning record in Season 80 of the OMFL
