OMFL 5th Quarter S81 W3

Season 81 is under way in OMFL Coach Cincy and Hurt toss out episode 3 of the 5th quarter. They look to show early season Rankings, Buy and Sell, key injuries and stats!

Bengals take care of business at home

Bengals(3-2) host the struggling Steelers. Cincinnati looks to get hot in this OMFL season has they move into the thick of the season. Pittsburgh gets the ball moving early but miss an opportunity to score first missing a fg just short of the post. Bengals take a big shot down field and get inside the red zone where they struggle. Once again they settle for a fg. Pittsburgh on drive number 2 miss another fg. and Bengals take over looking to put up a lead and they drive down the field and Benard scores a 7 yard td. Middle of the 2nd the Bengals work on their red zone skills and knock in multiple 1 yard td's. Bengals defence isn't letting anything happen with the Pittsburgh offence. In the 3rd Dalton throws an INT in the end zone and Benard knocks in a 3 yard run. Cincy have plenty of chances in red zone today but weren't 100% thrilled with results. Late in 4th Coach JBone is determined to not get shut out. He drives down the field in the final minute using the sideline, all 3 timeouts and a lucky break on Pass Interference which took an INT away to find the end zone with Conner. Coach Cincy chuckled as he will remember that when they go to Pittsburgh. Dalton looked good passing the ball but, they were missing Mixon as he is still out with an injury. Pettis looks to step up as the number 1 guy in Cincinnati as he lead the team with 7 receptions. The Bengals only allowed 1 sack as Pro Bowl Import Santi returned to anchor to o-line. Cincy Heads to Arrowhead to take on Shox. Pittsburgh heads into their bye as they look to evaluate their season. Pittsburgh is looking to have 2 top 5 picks in the draft as they have a 1-5 record and Drew's 1st rd pick where his Eagles are 0-5.

Bengals D steps up in hostile Panthers stadium

Bengals at 1-1 head to Carolina who is 2-0. Cam Newton was not himself today as the Bengals roughed him up for 5 interceptions on the day. In the first quarter Colin battled through 1 int and Gano managed to get them on the board first with a fg. The Bengals responded by driving 75 yards down the field with a 7 yard toss play by Gio. Cam then got the ball back and headed down to the red zone where he would be picked off again and the Bengals looked to build a lead. Gio has been big as a back up this season as he spells Mixon and he sure did with a 40+ yard gain bringing the Bengals to the goal line where Mixon would bulldoze it in. Mean while Andy Dalton was managing the game to perfection. Benard stayed hot early in the 2nd half picking up a 29 yard td and Cam still was colder than an ice sickle throwing a couple more int's. Late in the fourth Colin would find Rookie D.J. Moore in the back of the end zone. He was looking for him all day and finally hit him where it count. Cincinnati wins 24-10 moving to 2-1 and pushing Carolina to 2-1 as well. Cincinnati looks to build a streak and take out a tough Atlanta team. Carolina heads into their bye week wondering what happened.

Bengals flip the switch in Home Opener

The Bengals went home 0-1 from the beat down from Dwayne's Colts. That came out of the tunnel with 65,000 fans screaming, as they looked to turn things around against divisional rival Miguel and his Ravens who are 1-0. The Ravens looked very good week one beating the Bills 23-3. The Game started a little slow but Andy Dalton tried to sling his way down the field however just like week 1 it didn't work. On the 2nd drive Dalton throws an INT and gives the Ravens great field position. The defence holds strong in the red zone and hold the Ravens to a field Goal. It wasn't till early in the 2nd quarter Dalton finds the newly added Dante Pettis for a 40 yard pass to get inside the 5. Benard spells Mixon and runs for a 2 yard td. Baltimore goes right down the field however Jackson throws 1 of his many INT's around the Bengals 25. 2 Plays later Dalton gives it right back to the Ravens on a poor cover 2 read. Bengals D stops them again and The Bengals march down Benard comes in for his 2nd carry of the game and has a huge 30+ yard run bringing them in the 5. Mixon cleans up with a TD. 14-7 Bengals. Middle of the 3rd Dalton finds Pettis on 3rd down for a 16 yard td in the back on the end zone. Starting the 4th Benard gets his PF Flyers on and rushes for a 51 yard td. Ross adds next drive with a big punt return and the Ravens fans who made the trip head home early in the 35-3 bounce back. The Bengals defence stepped up after they fell on their face last week. The OLine is still trying to find water as they fall off the boat. Last week 11 sacks given up this week 6 holding calls. Bengals will look to improve this in the offseason. The Bengals head to Carolina to take on Colin as he has had a solid start. Baltimore heads home to take on Longhorn's Broncos.

Bengals get slaughtered by Colts in week 1 matchup

A potential AFC Championship matchup with the Cincy's Bengals visiting Dwayne's Colts. EA wanted no part in this being a close one. From the start Dwayne was busting holes and racking up the RAC with his receivers. It didn't matter which rb was running they had multiple seals from their lineman and set that bad boy on cruise control. Dwayne is know for running the ball but he made it look like a walk in the park. Cincy struggled with the run game not making it out of the back more than a couple times all game. He has to attempt to run the ball more enough though he can really air it out. This is probably the worst qb Cincy has used in a long time and it showed. Dalton missed at least 3 wide open td's that led to 4th down punts. The offensive line was a disaster as they allowed double digit sacks. Sheard had 7 himself. To make things worst the Bengals top lineman RT Santi is out 5 weeks with a shoulder separation. Dwayne and the Colts look to stay hot and head to Washington to visit his buddy Dawson! Cincy heads home to host Miguel's Ravens.

Patriots shock Bills in final mintues

The Buffalo Bills showed to be the stronger team until final moments of game. The Bills started off strong with an opening drive field and 3 and out stop on Patriots. Drive #2 Buffalo started deep in their own zone and got up to a 3rd and short on the 42; when Taylor found Watkins for a 42 yard streak route.

Patriots were down 10-0 and needed to not fall even further behind. They looked to Gronk on a 30 yard pass to eventually set up a red zone touchdown to Amendola. The Bills on the next drive caught the patriots on a classic 3rd and 1 hb toss for a 60 year Dri Archer TD run. Minutes before the half Brady threw a bad INT and the Patriots goal line standed the Bills to take a fg and a 20-7 lead into half. The Patriots have never been in this situation.

The Patriots threw the running game out the window in the 2nd half. making them 1 dimensional. We are going to fast forward all the way to 2:20 left in the game. On 1st down Coach Ducks decides to pass the ball and the ball gets dropped and deflected for a 61 yard Pat Chung INT return. 20-14 Bills. When the Pats thought it was over Ducks gave him a chance.

So with 2:00 left Ducks gets the ball and decides to throw the ball 3 straight times instead of running and waste the patriots 3 time outs. On that 3rd down Taylor throws an INT to he Corner Ryan at the Buf 45. Pats down 6 with 3 time outs and 1:50 to go.On the 1st play Brady found a wide open Gronkowski for 30 yards.a couple plays and a holding penalty later on 2nd and 20 Brady found Amendola for 18 yards.3rd and 2 at the 5 Brady found Amendola again for a game winning TD to create the magical comeback. 21-20. Coach Burger was thrilled to come away with the victory.

The Bills at 3-1 head to LA and The Patriots at 4-0 head out to Cleveland.

Patriots jump on top of Houston's Offence

 Foxboro hosted a fun Thursday night game. The viewers picked Houston to edge out the Patriots but they weren't having any of that. Coach Burger came in looking to shut down Houston in one area to make Houston 1 dimensional. Although in the middle of the 2nd Hopkins burnt the Patriots blown coverage for 49 yard td catch. Nick Novak had an awful day. He missed 2 extra points and his only fg he attempted. Patriots responded with a couple fg's tying the game up at 6. Right before the 2nd half end under 2 minutes left there was a lot of action.
  Pat Chung jumped an out route for a 40 yard pick 6. Moments later the rookie Will Fuller got behind the secondary and caught a 60 yard bomb for a 13-12 patriots halftime lead.
  Coming out of the half the Rookie D.J. Foster caught his first career TD pass for a nice 9 play drive. After that play the defense rose up and no scoring was done as Eric Rowe sealed the victory with a late INT. A final of 20-12 Patriots win in Primetime.
*Key stats were Lamar miller 10 carriers for 0 yards and the rookie Tyler Ervin had 4 carries for 7 yards. When you have 7 rushing yards its just flat out hard to win.
Week 4 preview: Titans visit the Texans ; the 3-0 Bill come visit the 3-0 Patriots for a divisional clash.

Patriots stop Dolphins late push. 24-13

   New England's defence only fault was a 94 yard completion that Landry went up one on one and took to the house. They played balanced ball hawk defence. Mingo and Chung came out with an interception. Miami only ran the rock for 37 yards and the front 7 for New England stood tall.
   Miami's Defence played the bend don't break style until Blount busted one out to steal the game. The secondary shut down the Patriot wide receivers all day. Suh wasn't allowing anything up the middle as he looked like a wrecking ball out there. They managed to force Brady to throw his first interception of the year. The front 4 also force two fumbles by Brady which hurt the offensive drives.
   Blount led the Offence with 145 rushing yards and Brady balanced out his receivers by finding them all once again. Miami had a shot with one final drive as they drove down the field they were stopped on 4th and 18 in Patriot territory. The Browns head to Miami next week.New England plays host to the 2-0 Houston Texans. Houston has looked tough in beat Chicago and Kansas City. New England is going to have to make sure that Texans offence doesn't get out to their usual quick start.

Pats Cruise Past Cardinals

New England walked into Glendale feeling good and walked out feeling even better. Tom Brady did what he does best and that was lead the Patriots to victory. Brady threw for 2 td and 216 yards. Blount led the committee with 69 yards. Coach Burger felt comfortable calling every play. They didn't see much of a problem on offence.

On the defensive they saw an inexperienced and unproven QB even at the college level start for the Cardinals so they brought pressure all night long to keep him off balance. Little man McCourty at FS had 2 picks to show the move to safety was the real deal. Gostkowski brought his leg again going 3 for 3 including a 55 yarder to end the half.

Next week the (1-0) Dolphins travel to Foxborough as a divisional battle take place!

Patriots News and Updates

New England looks to go for 8 straight playoff appearance behind the future Hall of Famer Tom Brady. New coach CincyIceBurg3 takes over for the Patriots looking to get started on a strong note in OMFL. He is excited to start his career off here. He is looking at a 5 year plan of playoffs every season and a couple deep runs. Coach Ducks and the Bills are going to look to stir up the pot and take the division which has been the Patriots for years. New England is shooting for another solid 11-5 season however they will take any record as long as they are in the playoffs. But we all know how big home field advantage is for New England. Week one will be a good test for their campaign as they go to the University of Phoenix Stadium to visit the Cards and coach Nate for a tough Matchup.
