The Giants after being shutout against the 49ers a week ago looked to get their anemic offense on track. Unfortunatley they would have to do so against a very tough Bucs team that historically has given the Gmen fits in the past. Trailing 7-3 late in the first half the Giants looked to at the very least cut the Bucs lead to 1 point driving inside the 20 yard line but Brissett would be picked off for a pick 6 and now trail 14-3 at the half. The Bucs would take the ball on their first possesion of the 2nd half and run it down the Giants throat and Ronald Jones would score his 2nd TD of the game puting the in a deep hole now down 21-3.
The Giants defense then took matters into their own hands as they made Jameis Winston uncomfortable as they were able to pick him off 3 times and also creating a sack fumble that the Giants recovered to make this a 21-19 game after 2 OBJ TD's with just 4 minutes left. The Bucs worked the ball down to the Giants 30 yard line with just over 2 minutes left but would shank the kick wide right giving the Giants great field position only down 2. After 2 drops on back to back plays by Beckham Brissett hit Evan Engram for a huge 21 yard catch setting the Giants up at the Bucs 31 yard line. The Bucs elected to not use timeouts as the Giants ran the ball inside the 15 yard line to setup a Rosas GW FG attempt which he nailed for a 22-21 victory.
The Giants move to 6-4 and setup a rematch against the Eagles next week with huge implications for the division.
(AP) Landover, MD - The 3-1 Panthers would travel to Washington to take on the 2-1 Redskins in what was to be a big test for new Head Coach Rob Mass. It started out just how the Panthers wanted as Luke Keuchly had 2 first quarter INT's as the Redskins turned the ball over 4 times in the first half and a 17-0 early Panther lead. The Redskins however would get a few turnovers over their own to strike back quickly and make it 17-14 at the half.
The Redskins defense was dominant all day specially against the run and would seem tot ake control of the game as they scored 10 points in the 3rd to take a 24-17 lead. The Panthers just couldnt seem to put anything together in the 2nd half until they got a lucky break. On 3rd and 12 Blake would complete a screen pass but it would come up 1 yard short as the Skins would bring out the punt team with around 1:45 to go.
The Panthers would take advantage moving the ball downfield and finally Cam stepped up and delivered a strike downfield to Kelvin Benjamin for what looked to be the game tying TD pass. However the Panthers had other plans with just :35 and would instead elect to go for 2 and the win. Michael would take the toss getting tot he edge around the Redskin defenders to take a 25-24 lead.
The Skins had one last shot with all 3 timeouts but the rookie Prince Griffin would get his first INT of his career to close the game out and preserve the Pantrhers win.
Panthers nearly blow 21 point lead in Atlanta. I will let the video highlights tell the story

(AP) Charlotte, NC - The 1-1 Panthers would host the 2-0 Cowboys in what was sure to be a primetime matchup. Unfortunately neither offense got off the bus or so it seemed. Bother teams would trade turnovers in the first half including a pick 6 for the Panthers to give them a 7-0 halftime lead. It was more of the same in the 2nd half until Cam Newton finally hit a big play to Benjamin on a 45 yard pass to extend the lead 14-0 midway through the 3rd.
Dallas would finally get a drive going as they put together a long 14 play drive where Escobar would score from on a 15 yard strike to put Dallas rigfht back in the game. On the very next play Dallas would get a pick 6 of their own to tie the game 14-14 as the Panthers were now reeling. The Panther coaching staff tried to calm down Cam as he had already thrown 4 INT's on the day and would work on using the running game while controlling the clock. They would do just that eating up all but 4 minutes of the 4th qtr as Christine Michael would score after a long drive to go back to a 21-14 lead.
Dallas still had life with 2 timeouts and 4 minutes left and would work the ball inside the Carolina 40 yard line. However the game would all come down to a 4th and 3 with :35 to go. Star Lotulelei would make the play of the game as he kniufed intot he backfield and would sack Powers to give the ball to the Offense and preserve the Win as the Panthers move to 2-1
" That was about as sloppy as it gets but we will take it" said new Head Coach Robert Mass.
(AP) Cincinatti, OH - The Bengal fans were in shock when their former coach walked out on the team to take the head coaching position of the Minnesota Vikings leaving a coaching vacancy for the 1-0 Bengals as they were set to host the divison rival Baltimore Ravens. The Bengals were able to lure Rob Mass out of retirement to bring his 4-3 defensive philosophy back but how rusty would the team be with their coach needing to knock off some rust.
The Bengals came in with a good gameplan as they kept it simple. The plan? Go to AJ Green early and often. The Ravens had no answer for AJ as he hauled in 5 receptions for 138 yards and 2 TD's to jumpstart the bengals as they jumped out to a 14-3 lead. The Ravens would respond however to keep things close thanks to a hard hit on Jeremy Hill forcing a fumble and scoring 10 straight points to cut into the lead at 14-10. The Ravens did however make a few big mistakes on special teams as they elected to go for 2 60+ yard FG's missing both of them and giving the Bengals great field position.
AJ McCarron would capitalize this time spreading the ball around to 6 different recievers which would end in scoring drives to both Jeremy Hill and Giovani bernard to go up 28-10 in the 4th with only 4 minutes reaming. A scary scene happened moments later as the Bengals defense would put a big hit on James Lucas knocking him out for the game and for the forseeable future. However Kellen Moore would come in and lead the Ravens to a late scoring drive to close out the game as the Bengals hold on for a 28-17 Victory to move to 2-0 on the season.
"It always feels great to get that first win as a new coach, The guys fought hard and really wanted this one" said Coach Mass.
Key stat of the game: Bengals hold Ravens to just 25 yards rushing on 16 carries
