Soprano 'bittersweet' Over Idea Of Facing Childhood Team New York Giants In Divisional Round

Packers Head Coach Guy Soprano, a native of Newark, New Jersey, and born in the Bronx, grew up a huge New York Football Giants fan. With the Packers defeating the Los Angeles Rams at home in a blockbuster WildCard battle, Soprano and the Packers are slated for an appearance at Metlife Stadium against the G-Men. "Look, I'll always have a place in my heart for the Giants, hell maybe one day I'll have the opportunity to coach there. Right now, I'm focused on getting a win for my guys." The Packers have been playing absolutely phenomenal as of late, with the offense really finding their way down the stretch of the season. The defense's performance goes without saying, with the team leading the SFL in total defense in 2023.

Milton 'Hungry' for Starting Job, Bears Encouraging Competition

With first round draft choice Trey Lance struggling in his first season under center for Chicago and Nick Foles showing his age, it came as a shock to no one when the Bears took Michigan QB Joe Milton in the fourth round. While Lance will remain starter for Week 1, there are certainly possibilites of a change coming down the road at starting quarterback for the Bears. "We love competition in the quarterback room. " Said Coach Soprano in a post-practice interview. "These guys are going to work together and learn from one another. [Foles] is a veteran with a ring under his belt, we fully expect him to take these guys under his wing. Right now, Trey is going to be our guy Week 1." While Lance has expressed excitement and optimism for his sophmore season, Milton has made some comments hinting at wanting to be the guy. " I won't lie, I'm hungry to get out there and win games for this team at quarterback. Right now I'm just focused on playing my role and getting to work in practice." The Bears will face their division rival Green Bay Packers Week 1.

Trubisky Era Over In ChiTown

The day has finally come. Trubisky, after being selected second overall in 2017 by Chicago out of North Carolina has found himself becoming a free agent heading into the 2021 season. This doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Trubisky was benched only 4 games into the season this year in favor of Nick Foles. It seems the Bears just weren't interested in extending Trubisky for another contract, and the 26 year old will have to look for other options throughout the league.

Trouble in ChiTown? Coach Soprano expected to be fined following media altercation.

Following a disappointing 48-21 loss to Carolina, it’s clear tensions were high in Chicago’s lockeroom. While Coach Soprano’s postgame press conference started off adequate enough,  claiming he was “not happy with how both units performed. We need to limit our turnovers and get our passing game back to normal.” Things soon turned for the worse after a question clearly agitated the first year coach. “Do you think your players are unhappy with how you personally handled the game-plan?” Soprano threw his gatorade bottle to the floor and pointed to the reporter, “my guys  (expletive) know that we work hard every week in practice and formulate a game plan geared towards our matchups. Don’t you (expletive) dare question that." After throwing over his podium nearly damaging film equipment, Soprano was swarmed by security in an effort to prevent him from getting to the reporter in question. After being ushered from the room, all media were sent away from the facility. “I’ve never seen anything like that.” one camera man was quoted as saying. “Soprano clearly wanted to confront that guy.” While Coach Soprano declined to comment on the matter after being reached out to, several Chicago Bears were not as silent on the matter as their head coach. Khalil Mack when questioned stated, “To be honest with you, I fully support it. That reporter was wrong to question his gameplan like that, he doesn’t know the type of guy Coach is.” Wide Receiver Allen Robinson also added “We’re fully behind Coach, it goes to show the type of fire that guy has and how passionate he is about this team winning.” Coach Soprano is fully expected to be fined for the altercation, but it is said he will be on the sideline next week when the Bears face the Rams on Monday night at SoFi Stadium.
