Following a disappointing 48-21 loss to Carolina, it’s clear tensions were high in Chicago’s lockeroom. While Coach Soprano’s postgame press conference started off adequate enough, claiming he was “not happy with how both units performed. We need to limit our turnovers and get our passing game back to normal.” Things soon turned for the worse after a question clearly agitated the first year coach. “Do you think your players are unhappy with how you personally handled the game-plan?” Soprano threw his gatorade bottle to the floor and pointed to the reporter, “my guys (expletive) know that we work hard every week in practice and formulate a game plan geared towards our matchups. Don’t you (expletive) dare question that." After throwing over his podium nearly damaging film equipment, Soprano was swarmed by security in an effort to prevent him from getting to the reporter in question. After being ushered from the room, all media were sent away from the facility. “I’ve never seen anything like that.” one camera man was quoted as saying. “Soprano clearly wanted to confront that guy.” While Coach Soprano declined to comment on the matter after being reached out to, several Chicago Bears were not as silent on the matter as their head coach. Khalil Mack when questioned stated, “To be honest with you, I fully support it. That reporter was wrong to question his gameplan like that, he doesn’t know the type of guy Coach is.” Wide Receiver Allen Robinson also added “We’re fully behind Coach, it goes to show the type of fire that guy has and how passionate he is about this team winning.” Coach Soprano is fully expected to be fined for the altercation, but it is said he will be on the sideline next week when the Bears face the Rams on Monday night at SoFi Stadium.
