The Steelers started off strong to the new Madden and boy is it good to be back! The Steelers dominated all facets of the game and came away with the victory 41-3. An off night for Tom Brady afforded the defense six interceptions, two of which by the player of the game, Terrell Edmunds, who also returned one for the touchdown. Mark Barron, TJ Watt, Artie Burns and Mike Hilton all also joined the party. Cam Heyward got the only sack of the day but they tormented Brady to the tune of 15/37 197 yards and 6 INT. The defense held the Patriots to just 205 yards total and 17 rushing yards.
Offensively Pittsburgh had zero turnovers and went 5-9 (55%) on third down. They dominated the time of possession thanks to James Conner's 95 yards on 23 carries and a score. The Patriots had Gilmore shadowing Juju all game long and he caught just one pass for 2 yards. The other receivers shined through with 3 TD catches by Deontae Johnson, Vance McDonald and a 91 yard mossing by Donte Moncrief. Big Ben finished 9/13 for 190 yards and the 3 TDs and was not sacked in the game and hit only once.
After the game, Big Ben said "Our team played very well all around and it's a big win for us to open the season. We have a tough task next week so we will celebrate this win today and it is back to work tomorrow for our home opener." Coach Kring was very excited to be back in UFL action after missing most of Madden 19 with issues.
Next week the Steelers take on the Seattle Seahawks at Heinz Field!
