The Saints began their 2016 campaign with a resounding victory over the visiting Seattle Seahawks behind a stout defense and a dominant running game. The Saints looked to be in trouble early after Mark Ingram fumbled in Seattle territory, but the Saints defense held the Seahawks to a field goal.
Once the Saints got the football back, they went on a long drive capped off by a Mark Ingram TD run. They then continued to stay on the ground for big chunks of yardage and 2015 OROY, Richard Boren played mistake free football going 11-14 for 121 yds and a TD. The stars on offense for this game were the running backs. Mark Ingram carried the ball 26 times for 101 yds and 2 TD’s and rookie LaMichael Maclin carried 12 times for 121 and a TD. The defense didn’t get much pressure, but managed to intercept Russell Wilson twice and held the Seahawks to 146 total yards on the day.
