The Kansas City Chiefs entered their bye week with a record of 3-4, leaving fans with many questions and no answers. Head Coach, Jordan Charles, said that he and the team bunkered down this bye week and looked inwards to figure things out.
"We know there are issues on both sides of the ball," said Charles. "No one wants to go into a bye after a loss, but this team is comitted and all of us are on the same page. We took advantage of that and doubled down our prep."
It's no surprise that this team lives and dies on the shoulders of Quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, who has recorded 1,907 yards on the season with a 68% completion rate. Looking at that alone, one would think Mahomes is having a solid year, but with 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, the numbers tell a different story.
"I'm just not taking care of the ball on the level I need to be," said Mahomes on Monday."We all know this and it's time to lock in."
This Chief's offense has not been itself and the defensive unit is far from complete, so the road to the post season may be a long one. The schedule does not ease up for this team and each and every week is more imporant than the last.
Kansas City will have a change to right the ship out of their bye when they take on newly named starter, Malik Willis and the Tennessee Titans.
