After what has been an up and down season for the Miami Dolphins, following their week 18 win vs the division rival Patriots the Dolphins will sneak into the 7 seed of the AFC playoffs. The Dolphins owe the LA Chargers an edible arrangement after their win over the Broncos knocked Denver out of the 7 seed allowing Miami to enter the postseason. While the Dolphins found themselves at 2-4 to start the season they will finish 11-6 with an oppurtunity to upset the #2 seeded Titans.
With all the bad that has came this year there has been a silver lining for the team in 1st round draft pick Kyle Morris, the rookie has shattered Dolphins rookie RB records and has taken the league by storm as a dual threat back racking up 2,600+ scrimmage yards and 21 touchdowns. Morris has filled the void that Miami has been missing for years as a playmaker at running back. A team that had to rely heavily on the passing game in the last season has now found a more balanced offense with the addition of the UF back.
A big part of the success Miami has had this season is on the defensive side of the ball, the team has ranked top 5 in every defensive category this year. OLB Jaelen Phillips has found his stride in his second season as he ranks 3rd in sacks in the league and is a front runner for best LB in the AFC. In the secondary Jevon Holland and Xavien Howard have been making their prescense known and MLB Jerome Baker continues to be the field general the team needs. We caught up with the HC to see what he had to say about the team heading into the postseason.
"We didn't have the seaosn we expected to this year coming 3rd place in the division but we were given an oppurtunity to make a run despite the mistakes we made this year. Im proud of these guys for fighting through adversity and giving it their all this season even when things didn't look great for us. Im really excited to see these young guys continue to flourish and see what they can do this posteason. We're gonna prepare for Tennesee and bring our A game on the road. Oh yeah, and shoutout Coach Zook for that dub vs Denver, I owe you one"
