Before the season began the Carolina Panthers parted ways with their superstar running back to make room for the former Vanderbilt product. Fast forward nine weeks later and it seems as if the rookie has hit a milestone in his career already. Given the lead back duties and running with them quite literally, Nate Branson has racked up 1,000 yards rushing in his first NFL season.
His counterpart in Christian McCaffrey was able to hit the 2,000 yard mark last season, when asked if he aims that high Branson showed why he's truly a coaches back.
"Nah, my goal is just to win games and right now we're struggling to find that consistently," Said the rookie. "I've got to lock in and produce when my number is called, I can celebrate the individual accolades later."
It's fair to say that the 22-year old was frustrated after the team's most recent loss to the San Francisco 49ers, pushing them to a record of 5-4 and in jeopardy of losing their NFC South lead. The team will get another shot to right the ship as they take on the Los Angeles Rams next week.
