This week the Thursday Night game was a showdown between two divisonal rivals in the Washington Football Team and New York Giants. The first half was an embarrasing display of offense by the Football Team falling, behind 16-3. The run game was non-existant, and the passing attack was a no show either behind very poor blocking. The second half of this Thursday Night game was a different story. With 13 seconds remaining Drew Lock threw a 29 yard touchdown pass to Curtis Samuel that resulted in Washington being victorious 34-30.
As stated aboved the Washington offense was a tale of two halves. The run game was consitant all game, but the passing game was the difference in the second half. Antonio Gibson finished the game with 14 carries for 36 yards after having over 200 last week against the Chargers. Quarterback Drew Lock and Wide Receiver Curtis Samuel both stepped up against the Giants. Lock finished 22/36 with 343 yards, 3 TDs, and 3 INT's. Curtis Samuel hauled in 7 catches for 159 yards and his lone game winning touchdown. As expected the Washington defense was stout, and did everything the could to help secure the win.
Your SFL Washington Football team looks to improve on their performance, and record in Week 3 in their first road game at the 1-1 Buffalo Bills.
