Senju vs Uchiha, Moto vs Kaiba, Goku vs Vegeta, all names that come to mind when you think of everlasting rivalries that include hundreds of battles between the two. It's no different when speaking on the competitive rivarly between Head Coaches Hernandez and Uzumaki. With the Baltimore Ravens and Clevland Browns gearing up for a rematch of last years AFC confrence championship in which the Ravens won with a go ahead touchdown coming with under a minute left on a 4th and long, this will be the third season in a row that Uzumaki and Hernandez will meet in a confence championship; the first being the Chicago Bears vs Arizona Cardinals NFC championship where the Bears won and went on to win a super bowl before the two left those teams and migrated to the AFC North. Uzumaki and Hernandez have been going back and forth in this game for 11 years now since they first began their careers in 2011 and have met in every circumstance imaginable since.
This time around the stakes are arguably higher than they've ever been before as the Ravens are looking to right their wrongs and redeem themselves from last years season when they fell short of their goal and lost in the Super Bowl to the Green Bay Packers; while on the other side the Browns are in desperate need to reach the Super Bowl after a heartbreaking last minute loss in the AFC championship round last year, both Coaches feel as if they have something to prove. While the seeding has seemingly flipped with the Browns being the 1 seed and Raverns being the 5 seed last year, now Baltimore holds the 1 seed and Clevland with the 5 but there is never an edge to be had when these two meet since they have met countless amounts of times over the years and anything can happen in a matchup between the two. We caught up with Head Coach Uzumaki to see how he felt about the upcoming matchup.
"I got a lot of respect for Coach Hernandez as you know we go way back with this football thing, and I know for sure if we don't go out there and play our absolute best and perfect football we can fall short of our goal, just look at what happened last week. This is playoff football, there's nothing like it. If a team goes out there and doesn't play mistake free and aren't on their A game you can lose to anyone it doesnt matter who you are or what you did during the regular season and that's what I love about it. Stages like this is what shows you what you're made of. Nobody gives a f*** if you had the best record, won MVP, or broke records during the season. This is the point of the season where your team needs to be operating in perfect sync and harmony to ultimatley achieve your goal. We're gonna go out there and leave everything we have on that field, and hopefully you'll be interviewing me next week too."
What Uzumaki was refrencing when he said "look what happened last week" was the Ravens divisional round game last week with the Tennessee Titans who everyone remembers shocked the world when they pulled off the huge upset vs the 14-2 Ravens in the 2019 divisional round. This time around the Ravens were able to hold off the upset with a 33-30 victory which came from a Lamar Jackson led game winning touchdown drive when he clutched up and threw a TD to his TE Mark Andrews in the corner of the endzone to take the lead late in the 4th quarter. While the Ravens defense was able to hold the Titans to only 63 passing yards, King Henry absolutely GASHED the Baltimore run defense, totaling 385 yards and 4 TDs on 33 carries, only being able to contain Henry somewhat on the last drive of the game when the Titans were put into a passing situation where Baltimore was able to get a stop and secure the victory. Baltimore will have their hands full with another top RB in the league in Nick Chubb during the confrence championship taking which will take place at M&T Bank stadium for what should be a good one.
