The playoffs are in full form here in the first season of the SFL cycle and the NFC is looking for it's reprentative for the 2020 Superbowl. Fans won't be treated to anything less than a nailbiter with the way these two teams have been playing, as the Philadelphia Eagles play host to the Green Bay Packers in a week 13 match up with much more on the line.
Last time we saw these two teams face off was not that long ago, but much has changed between now and then. The Green Bay Packers were picked apart by the Eagles in a 61-36 loss, the Philadelphia rushing attack had proven to be too much in what was a crucial regular season game. Miles Sanders eclipsed the 200 yard mark in this match up and found the endzone 5 times on the ground, a performance that the Packers are hoping is not repeated.
Unfortunately for this Packers defense, the 2nd-year man out of Penn State doesn't seem to have lost any steam, rushing for 225 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns in their Divisional round game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Philadelphia will likely look to their run game early and often to set the tempo here, while Green Bay will need to find running room that wasn't available in their last match up.
Packers signal caller Aaron Rodgers was forced to air it out more than he may have wanted in their last match up, tossing the ball 36 times, a mark that he has not hit in either of his first post season appearances this season. Green Bay has found success mainly on the defensive end of things, however Aaron Jones has been somewhat of a factor as well.
The UTEP product is coming off of a down game where he amassed only 47 yards on a lacklustre Seattle Seahawks defense, but was able to record 147 yards and 3 touchdowns in his wild card performance. This Jekyll and Hyde version of Jones isn't what B and his squad want to see, so hopefully they'll run into the beast himself this week.
Both teams bring a lot to the table on both sides of the ball, solid defensive units meeting explosive offensive factors seems to be the theme when it comes to both of these Conference Championship games. Home turf plays largely in games like this and I feel like it is the deciding factor in this game.
Prediction - Green Bay - 24 / Philadelphia - 35
