The 2020 season for the Carolina Panthers was suppose to be the start of a rebuild. With a new owner for this cycle, new faces on the team, and youth. This team wasn't expected to compete in the division this season. The panthers did just the opposite. Projected to finish last in the NFC South, but came out on top to win the division at 10-6 with a 6-0 divisional record.
The offense under first year head coach Neal Brown was lead by a fierce rushing attack. Christian McCaffery set the tone in most games this season. When he did not have such a great game the passing game made up for it with Teddy B behind center. With help from targets DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, Curtis Samuel, and Ian Thomas the game was made easier for Bridgewater. The Panthers O looks to add to a nice season against the Seattle defense in the playoffs.
On the other side of the football the Carolina defense was better in some places than others. They gave up plenty of yards, but forcing turnovers kept them in games all season long. Brian Burns led the defense in sacks which was key to the Panthers success. Eli Apple led in interceptors this season. Also Shaq Thompson led them in tackles. The unexpected trio, all on different levels of the defense were a surprise to some this season. We will se what they can do against Russ and Seattle this week.
The Carolina Panthers will be hosting the Seattle Seahawks in the wild card at 5:30-6 PM EST tonight so tune in. #KeepPounding
