Taking his talents from Carolina to Pittsburgh wasn't a long drive for Steeler's HC Jordan Charles, however he found himself standing amongst a plethora of talent in a now stacked AFC conference.
In his AFC debut Charles and his steel city curtain were able to hold the New York Giants at bay, defeating Daniel Jones and company by a score of 49-12. Running back James Connor shot out of the gate with an impressive stat-line, rushing for 114 yards on the ground and finding the endzone 3 times on 17 carries.
The real X-Factor for this week 1 game was safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who is now entering his first full season with the Steelers. The former Dolphin was able to pick off Jones twice while taking one to the house. He will be needed in heavy doseages this week as the Steelers and HC Charles face off against a very familiar face in Q and his Denver Broncos.
Q found his way to the AFC via the 1st overall pick of the 2020 SFL team draft, taking his talents and hardware from Atlanta and finding a new home with a young core in Denver.
"Lord, I just got reminded we gotta run," said Q during his mid week presser. "I just can't escape these I guess."
These two have faced off many times, with most battles falling short on the side of Charles, this is a new city and a new team for him, which can hopefully breath new life into the former Panthers' coach and propell him to a rare victory over the 11 time SFL champion.
