It’s almost time…the cycle is on he verge of starting and this year the league has been completely shaken up, lots of people in new places and good rivalries set. I’m gonna give a brief look at how I think everything pans out this first season. There’s a lot for everyone to prove and a lot of these picks were hard to make but here are my way too early season predictions.
AFC SOUTH
1. Tennessee Titans (Matt)
2. Jacksonville Jaguars (Jesse)
3. Houston Texans (Robb)
4. Indianapolis Colts (OG Walker)
This division was tricky for me because I haven’t seen 2 teams play and Matt is coming off a hiatus, but from what I saw from Robb he’s ranked accordingly, maybe even take last If OG Walker is good.
AFC WEST
1. KC Chiefs (AC)
2. Denver Broncos (Q)
3. Los Angeles Chargers (LB)
4. Las Vegas Raiders ( EMPTY )
Now the alphabet division, unanimously the strongest division in the league to start the cycle despite having the last empty squad. I have Q, AC, and LB all splitting games with each other in the first season. I see AC and Kansas City taking first, last year we saw Demi-God Patrick Mahomes and the star studded Chiefs fall short of any playoff success, this year should be a different story. It’s not easy right now to see what will happen with the 2 and 3 spots between Q and LB but I expect it to be very close. RIP to whoever ends up with the Raiders.
AFC NORTH
1. Baltimore Ravens
2. Cleveland Browns (Ed)
3. Pittsburg Steelers (Crim)
4. Cincinnati Bengals (Codie)
Not gonna comment much on my division…but Codie said he’s going 0-6 so he’s definitely last.
AFC EAST
1. New York Jets (William Gomes)
2. Buffalo Bills (Julian)
3. New England Patriots (Odeazy)
4. Miami Dolphins (Brad A)
This is the toughest division to predict in the AFC for me, actually having seen all these owners play. Gomes is my sleeper pick despite having the worst team in my opinion. Julian definitely has the best team to start out but I haven’t seen him show anything that makes me think he can win the division right away. Odeazy struggled heavily last year but now having a cycle under his belt maybe he can make improvement, and Brad A joined late last cycle and I never really watched him play so.
PLAYOFF SEEDING
1. Ravens
2. Chiefs
3. Titans
4. Jets
5. Broncos
6. Chargers
7. Browns
NFC SOUTH
1. New Orleans Saints (Chan)
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (GoonSquad)
3. Atlanta Falcons (Goins)
4. Carolina Panthers (Jason)
This division out the gate belongs to Chan, having the highest rated team to start Chan will be looking to dominate early and roll that momentum throughout the season, GoonSquad has a powerful offense as well and definitely has the best chance at battling Chan for that number 1 spot. I’m not counting Goins out for competing for a wildcard but Goins hasn’t been in the playoffs in a while, so I’d have to see it to believe. Jason had a nice showing last cycle with the NYJ but the Panthers are going to need some work before competing for the division.
NFC WEST
1. San Francisco 49ers (Bryce)
2. Seattle Seahawks (Malek)
3. Arizona Cardinals (JD)
4. Los Angeles Rams (Turk)
The NFC West is up for grabs, JD made a late push last cycle for a playoff appearance which makes this division interesting and could go any way. Malek and Bryce were both had multiple playoff appearances last cycle so the 1 spot is going to be a battle, but I have Bryce winning it to start. I won’t sleep on Turk yet either, Ramsey and AD should be a force on defense so if he can get his offense together I think he can compete.
NFC NORTH
1. Green Bay Packers (B)
2. Minnesota Vikings (Castro)
3. Detroit Lions (BloodBrother)
4. Chicago Bears (Guy F)
B last year coming up short of a ring with 2 SB appearances is going to be looking to make a run out the gate, I think he can replicate the success he had with Cleveland last cycle take care of his division. Castro and Bloodbrother should split games and be close in their competition for 2 but I have Castro placing 2nd and just missing playoffs. Bears owner is new.
NFC EAST
1. Dallas Cowboys (Mike)
2. Philadelphia Eagles (Zach)
3. Washington Football Team (Gharl)
4. New York Giants (Gabe)
This division is also up for grabs between the Eagles, Cowboys, and Washington. I don’t see Gabe competing with them season 1 based on these past cycles. The Cowboys have a great roster to start out, Dallas a great fit for Mike who dominated in the run game with the Chargers last cycle, having Zeke and that O line give him weapons that fit right away. The Eagles have the perfect counter with their strong D line so it will be close between the two. Gharl has a great d line as well so if he can get an offense going with WAS the race for first here will surely be interesting.
PLAYOFF SEEDING
1. PACKERS
2. SAINTS
3. 49ERS
4. COWBOYS
5. SEAHAWKS
6. EAGLES
7. BUCS
