For a about a week now I've been collecting information from the league to detail who exactly are the league's best players. There are normally internal debates that are never made public, but this is one of those things that should clear up any confusion. The only rule for this particular poll was that, you were UNABLE to put yourself on any list that you've submitted. Tiebreakers were used from H2H success, postseason success and overall strength of victory.
So here are the rankings 10-6, based on the number of votes achieved beforehand. The more votes receieved, the higher you are on this list. For the record, this particular list, doesn't have one player who received double digit votes at all, whereas the Top 5 all receieved a massive amount of votes. Most of these rankings were literally separated by a vote or two.
10. Crim (Panthers) - 29 Regular Season Wins -
Coach - JJ Charles
Because of a late push and perhaps primarily because of the success he's having this current season, he's been catapulted into the top ten, over some owners such as Austin and Jason who were really close in terms of voting. After a tumultuous start, he's finally starting to put it all together. So we shall see what comes of his best opportunity to date.
9. Ed (Bears) - 43 Regular Season Wins
1 Postseason Win
3 Division Titles
Coach - Ed Hernandez
Despite having the regular season success that he's had, Ed was voted as the 9th best owner in the league. In actuality, he was tied with Crim for votes but the massive difference in regular season wins and the fact that he routinely wins his Division gave him the nod over Crim. If he can achieve the same postseason success as regular season, he may move up the list.
8. Chan (Texans) - 36 Regular Season Wins
0 Post Season Wins
1 Division Title
Coach - Dirty Chan
Chan was tied with our 7th owner, he lost the head-to-head matchup and has struggled vs similar opponents that the seventh owner didn't have much issue with. Chan has struggled this year. He's normally one of the best the league has to offer but one has to assume at this point if he has been figured out. Things have changed since a 6 time champion has joined his Division. Chan hasn't been winning the division as how he used to. Despite that, he got a lot of votes primarily based off what he has done as opposed to what he's been doing this cycle.
7. Byrd (Cardinals) - 37 Regular Season Wins
5 Postseason Wins
3 Division Titles
1 Superbowl Title (Season 1)
Coach - Justyn Byrd
To be honest, I expected Byrd to be way higher, but he tied with Chan in regards to votes. However, he won the tiebreakers and has already won a championship this season and usually wins his Division. It was kind of weird to see his own crew not really put him on their lists. However, due to a late surge of votes, he leapfrogged Chan, Ed and Crim to land in seventh place. Perhaps this puts a chip on his shoulder to try and be ranked even higher than a paltry seventh.
6. Mike (Caps/Chargers) - 39 Regular Season Wins
4 Postseason Wins
3 Division Titiles
Coach - LaDainian Tomlinson
Didnt really expect for Mike to have the massive amount of votes that he did but here we are. Mike has gone to a Superbowl, won the AFC and has led a rushing attack and a relentless defense that has him placed above a Superbowl champion in regards to votes and league respect. Mike himself will probably be shocked to see himself ranked this high but the league has spoken. We shall see if Mike can finish what he started in season two and actually win a Superbowl for the AFC who has yet to get a Superbowl this cycle. As a matter of fact, the NFC has won the last six Superbowls in the SFL.
