The Jags close out free agency by resigning two of their own and landing Free Agent QB Josh Allen. Allen was a big deal for the Jags. While the team has won with Minshew, they felt like the position needed to be upgraded, but they could never position themselves in the draft because of their record, so they really wanted to make this splash and they did. The front office felt that Allen was well worth what they were willing to pay. Frankly, they consider the deal a blessing and a discount in comparision to other QB contracts. So now with a great physical talent at QB locked up the team will turn to other areas in the draft tonight. In speaking with Jags GM he had this to say about the draft tonight:
"We have a specific plan and feel like the players that we're looking at will be there at 30 and even in the 2nd round. We're also excited about the later rounds. Last year we added players late that should be heavy contributors this year. This is hopefully another good draft for us. We believe it will be."
