After a dissapointing end to the 2021 season, the Arizona Cardinals were in the market for upgrades at a lot of positions. Considering they were a team with a healthy amount of cap space, Arizona was looking to spend. It'a been obvoius where Zona has been lacking these last 2 seassons, the trenches. Off the bat Arizona had inquired arounf the leauge for pass rushers and finally found a trade parter in New Orleans. Coachs Byrd and Fremaint were long time friends since their youth so sitting down and getting a deal done was a smooth task. Both sides ended up shipping their star defensive talent. Budda Baker and Cameron Jordan would both find new homes along with a future 2nd round pick given to Arizona. This was much needed for the Cardinals as they've been lackig a key edge rusher. On the other side of the ball for 3 seasons now Kyler Murray has been the most sacked QB in the SFL, after failing to get much O line help the past 2 years the team was committed to helping the young star. RG Kevin Zeitler was brought in to address the issue in the blocking scheme. DT Damon Harrison was also brought in on a similiar deal as Zeitlers to address the lack of superstar talent on the D line.
Earlier this offseason Christian Kirk and Arizona had parted ways so Zona was in the market for a playmaker to add to their WR core. In the search for that talent Arizona found themselves agreeing to contract terms with former Browns reciever Jarvis Landry. Arizona has shown that they are committed to building what hopes to be yet another championship squad under coach Byrd. With some time still left in FA the Cardinals look to improve their depth and have a strong 2022 draft class. We asked coach what he had to say about the recent aquisitions and to say the least he was excited. "Im loving the talent we're bringing into this organization, im ready to start working with these new guys and the young players we're about to bring in."
