It's not every day that a struggling franchise finds an established face for itself by parting ways with a fan favourite veteran, however the Carolina Panthers did just that by acquring Super Bowl winning quarterback, Dwayne Haskins Jr.
"It's just a move we have to make," said Coach Jordan Charles. "As much respect and admiraition I have for Cam, Dwayne has proven he can lead a franchise to victory and this is just a shake up that needed to happen."
There were rumors that the club was looking to deal the Auburn product in 2020, however they were unable to find a suitor. A year later the Panthers found themselves having to tag Newton as they were without an established man under centre to take over if they moved on and now going into the 2022 season they'll be receiving a much needed facelift.
Haskins is coming off a year where he threw for just in 3,000 yards, finding the endzone 28 times. The 24 year old will be held to a high standard in Carolina, but looks to be up for the challenge.
"I'm here to win and I expect that's what I'll do," Said Haskins on Monday. "I'll never forget what the Redskins did for me, but my focus is now here in Carolina."
Ohio State has found success when it comes to producing some top notch Quarterbacks over the past 5 years. The Buckeyes just recently had to part ways with Junior signal caller Jusitn Fields, who is coming off a Heisman finalst year and now expected to be a top 15 pick in the upcoming SFL draft.
