Jags defense saves the day as the offense sputters out after the first two series.
Leonard Fournette took the first play from scrimmage and ran right through the Bills defense for a 79 yard touchdown and the Jags were on a roll. On the next offensive series Fournette would continue to do damage and the Jags would go up 10-3. But then disaster struck. On another fifteen yard run, Fournette suffered a shoulder tear and the Jags offense came to a skreetching halt. 2nd year QB Gardner Minshew struggled and got pulled from the game.
While the offense struggled the defense welcomed back a familiar face. Telvin Smith made his presence felt in his first game back after a year off by snagging this interception of a Josh Allen pass.
Speaking of Josh Allen, the Jags Josh Allen dropped the Bills QB three times this game along with multiple other pressures. The Bills scored their lone TD off of a miracle John Brown play where Brown turned into Gumbo and just wouldn't be tackled.
The Jags are searching for an answer on offense now as they will have to shoulder a tough schedule without their best offensive player.
