Fournette Leads Jags to Victory in Sloppy Week 1 Contest vs Chiefs
The Jaguars really wanted to get reps in the last preseason game because the team is a bit sloppy out of the gate. It showed up here in game 1 against the Chiefs as the pass game sputtered out to the tune of 112 yards. Foles was efficient however, and barring one tipped pass by his own damn player he would have remained off of the turnover sheet.
The biggest positive for the Jaguars however, was the ground game as Leonard Fournette used blasted his way through the Chiefs defense for a total of 183 yards and 3 TDs. "We are certainly satisfied with what we accomplished on the ground and will look to improve that effort. We know that we will have to be able to pass in this league however, so we will get back to work."
One of the things the O Coordinator mentioned was to simplifying the passing attack. "We got a little too complicated in the passing game this week, working in too many different looks. So we will scale back a little next week and focus on specific concepts."
