Draft Day is a big day for teams around the league, selecting new faces of the frachise is difficult for some, but with the right selections the ship and be back on course for most.
This day is even bigger for the players, finding new homes and taking the leap of faith into the next chapter of their careers.
For the Los Angeles Rams, their luck ran out during their NFC Championship game against the Chicago Bears, looking for another shot at the title the team is capping off their off-season acquisitons here. Here's who will join the Rams going into training camp:
Round 1 - LG - Garrett Brumfield - 6'2" - 299lbs - LSU
Brumfield was a powerful part of the LSU offense this past season, protecting the blind side for his Quarterback and was able to open up running lanes at will. It's uncertain which side of the offensive line Brumfield will control, but he's certain to find himself in a starting role from day one once the season gets underway for these Rams.
Round 3 - OLB - Te'von Coney - 6'0" - 238lbs - Notre Dame
Te'von's time at Notre Dame was fairly solid, while he's not a fast linebacker, he's an accurate one. The position in Los Angeles isn't deep, while only Craig Fletcher really holds a starting position, the N.D. product could fight for a starting role on this team. Expect his pre-season play to dictate his role on for the Rams this upcoming season.
Round 4 - DT - Khalen Saunders - 6'2" - 320lbs - Western Illinois
With the departure of Ndamukong Suh this off-season, Khalen Saunders will move into a place where the second starting Defensive Tackle job is up for grabs. The 22-year-old speed rusher could add another element of surprise on the interior with his mixture of his speed and frame. He'll be competing against the likes of veterans such as Davon Godchaux and Eddie Vanderdoes, but I wouldn't count him out just yet.
Round 6 - LE - Adrian Sheffield - 6'6" - 301lbs - Delaware
This dude has 1 awareness, he's as good as gone. NEXT!
Round 7 - WR - Darius Slayton - 6'2" - 190lbs - Auburn
The Rams wide-receiver core is pretty top heavy with the likes of Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, so for Slayton to find a spot here won't be too difficult. He'll likely start off as a Special Teams guy, but there's room for him to grow and turn into a solid posession receiver for this team down the road.
