Coach Q's presser following the Super Bowl victory vs the Texans.
"First things first, I want to say hats off to Chan and the entire Texans organization. Going into that game, I was well aware that it would be the true test of who the best team in the SFL was. Granted, when we played each other earlier in the year oh, I believe that the Texans were undefeated and Atlanta was struggling and already had two losses on the year. So far us it was a fine test to see where we were at at the time. And as always with Chan, it came down to a handful of plays that we were able to capitalize on in order to be victorious that day."
"As far as the playoffs oh, you guys already knew that Matt Ryan was out because he tore his pectoral way before the playoffs started. What was interesting was that in the playoff game that the Texans had with the Chargers, Watson also was injured and missed the rest of the year. This essentially became the Back-up Bowl for Super Bowl 41. Going into the game, I believe chain was at the top of the league in many statistical categories as far as defense is concerned. So with that being the case, and us having to kind of limit our play calling because Hundley is not Ryan, we knew that we would have to maximize each and every possession."
"Now granted, on our very first drive Hundley threw an interception, but I thought that he rebounded very nicely. The Texans for the entire first half play keep away which was a solid gameplan, and they grinded out the clock to basically keep our offense off the field. Being able to control the clock and keep your defense fresh at the same time, I can definitely understand why that defense LED in the categories that they led in , as well as being pretty proficient at taking the football away."
"The second half, was a bit of a different story. We got some looks that we did not think that we were going to get, and the quarterback was able to capitalize off of them which resulted in a few touchdowns. Around that same time , our linebacker Campbell, picked off a pass that set us up to take a lead for the rest of the game. But once again, shout out to Houston oh, because it became a shootout afterwards and they showed that as well as being able to have a stifling defense, that they could produce points as well. So kudos to them in regards to having probably one of the better Super Bowl games that the SFL has probably seen in a long while."
"To take you back four Super Bowls ago, the game between the Texans and the Falcons literally came down to a field goal as time was expiring. We were on the opposite end of the spectrum that day, so it's pretty good to be on the winning side this time. I would like to thank Mr. Blank and the entire Falcon organization for allowing us to be a perennial playoff team. I am happy that this organization has reached the Pinnacle for the 9th Time, furthering their already all-time best record. To be honest, we are still hungry to acquire more championships and and be the best that we can be."
"We would like to give congratulations to Brett Hundley, the Super Bowl XLI MVP. I'd like to thank the offensive line, the defensive line, all of the skill players, all of the coaches and everybody on the staff. As far as the off-season is concerned, we will continue to look into a number of directions in order to make our team better. I believe that we played the NFC North and the AFC West this upcoming season. So with that being the case we are going to begin film study and prepare to get ready to work, but right after we go Disney World. Upon returning, we're going to meet with our scouting department and find out who are the best prospects to add to this winning culture that we have cultivated. So again thank you to the Texans and peace out"
