On the last episode of Hard Knocks, we caught up with Turk and Von Miller visited Dallas, Texas their hometown, viewed last season’s team and the highlights, what they need to be able to go to the next level and be more successful.
Free Agency is here, Turk knows his offense needs help. So, let’s take a look at who Turk has managed to sign to help his team. Last season Turk’s rushing game was successful about 60 percent of the time. The first player Denver has signed this free agency is Ty Montgomery, this helps Turk’s offense by giving them a higher overall running back then what they’ve had on the roster and also gives them someone else to throw to Ty being a former WR. Turk needs a franchise QB, picking up RG3 isn’t a franchise QB, but he’s a really good backup and that’s why Turk decided to bring him in in free agency. AL Woods is a DT that adds depth and a possible pre-season position battle for a starting job. The last player Turk signed this offseason was James O’Shannessey who is a Tight End, this team has been missing a reliable TE since the Julius Thomas days. So, after Free Agency, what’s missing? A Franchise QB, this teams struggles will continue if they can’t find someone to lead them. Turk has one more chance to bring in one with the draft just about to start up.
The good thing about this year is The University of Pittsburgh. This team has not one but two top 10 worthy QBs so if Turk can get lucky with pick 8 in the first round, maybe one of these two can fall to him. “With the 8th pick in the 2018 SFL draft, the Denver Broncos select Bryant Dodge University of Pittsburgh” as Dodge walked onto stage to shake commissioner Q’s hand a pose for a photo Turk was backstage popping champagne in celebration of finally acquiring the franchise QB his team has been lacking since Peyton Manning. As the night went on Turk drafted Roland Delgado RT Penn State, LE E.J. Provost Miami, and CB Nick Saunders from Cal. “It’s like a scene out of the movie draft day, we won the day”-Turk. Denver had arguably the best draft of all the SFL teams. Between free agency and the draft this Denver team has a lot of new faces in town but is it enough.
On the next episode of Hard Knocks, the offseason is over its time to get back to football. As preseason starts up players like Bryant Dodge get their first SFL action. Roster cuts are coming, guys fight for their jobs and look for playing time and starting jobs.
