The Atlanta Falcons finished their season as the two seed in the NFC, finishing with a 14-2 record. The two losses, both ugly, were to NFC East opponents. A week 1 disappointment vs Philadelphia who won the NFC and a Week 9 drubbing by the #6 seed Redskins who dismantled the Eagles and the #1 seed Bears.
Because of this, the Falcons are now hosting the NFC championship game, for the fourth consecutive year.
As far as that goes, there's only one person in league history who has gone to 4 straight Superbowls (LB). In the history of the league, nobody has ever won three straight titles. Atlanta is attempting to be a first for something else. "We're trying to be the best we can be and if that means that we break new ground along the way, then I'm all for it" quipped quarterback Matt Ryan who finished second in the MVP voting behind Carson Wentz.
On the other side of the league, Deme is trying to usurp B's Browns to make his first Superbowl appearance. Cleveland has now gone to back-to-back AFC title games and he's attempting ton procure his 8th SFL title which would tie him with Atlanta for the most of all-time. However, of the Final Four, it's the Redskins who have become the cult favorite as the balanced playcaller strives to get his 4th Title, which would move him into 4th all-time.
Deme is the last owner remaining who can potentially win his first title, continuing a cycle that has been favorable to owners without a title for years. He's earned it, he's defeated Chan (3x Champ) twice this season en route to this matchup with Cleveland. But with that being the case, the AFC championship game, dubbed the "Paperwork Bowl" is sure to be watched by the majority of the league. I'm sure both owners want to lay claim that the AFC is the best conference in the entire SFL.
On the other side, AC is undefeated in the title game vs the Falcons when he controls the Redskins so that should be a interesting matchup. Its gonna be truly scary for the NFC East to deal with a powered up Perine and Guice. For the most part, everyone is trying their best to cement their legacies in Madden 19 as the best in the world, at least for this season.
The playoffs were a blood bath on both sides, for better or worse. Both of the top seeds in the AFC got knocked off in their opening games. The Browns have turned into a run first team and have dismantled the Chiefs and Patriots. Three teams with byes all lost. The Cowboys made it, then got destroyed by a Rams team that at one point had the best record in the league but then faltered down the stretch.
So here's the recap: Deme trying for his first title.
AC is striving for his fourth. B attempting his 8th and Atlanta is in pursuit for their 9th. Something has got to give. All bets are off as the Final Four chase greatness. Who do you have winning in season 1?
