Dissecting/analyzing schemes, plays, and strategies is a fun aspect of (even digital) football/sports. Exploring how even the most granular distinctions in gameplay or play style produce varied (and sometimes extremely different) results among 32 individual players is intriguing. Notwithstanding, I don’t practice conjecture. My commentary, as it relates to Madden, is substantiated by film (e.g. Coach Codie’s Madden 18 Titans).

FACTS, B:
- Shot plays are fine. META is fine. Claiming to “hate” META while employing it is hypocritical and contradictory. Shot plays were META in Madden 18 due to broken man and deep zone coverage (deep half, deep third, and quarter).
- Deshone Kizer threw 35 passes in the Superbowl game against Coach Q’s Falcons. Below, you will see each shot play.
- There were more than 2 shot plays in Hall of Fame Coach B’s playbook. (Shot plays exist within various concepts).
- Seven shot plays were called, 20% of all Browns pass attempts. This percentage being considered high or low is of no interest—however, it is indicative/proof of shot plays being a functional part of the aforementioned offense.
