The Vikings offense had been in struggle bus mode through the first 4 weeks in the SFL. In that 4 week span they only managed to average 18 points per game. Also in that stretch they had two games in which they only scored 1 touchdown, against Buffalo and the LA Rams. After the week 4 win in LA Coach Miller said "We better pick it up on offense or there will be changes made"
Well it looks like Vikings Offensive Coordinator John DeFilippo got last weeks message. The Vikings had a farely well balanced attack, but the execution was much improved from previous weeks. "Quarterback play was more efficient, our line played very well, the running game was going, and our recievers hung onto the football" Coach DeFilippo said. Defilippo also added "Our main keys to this week were blocking, and not dropping passes. I was very pleased with how both turned out in the game".
In addition to the Offense the Minnesota defense is starting to come together as well. They gave up 17 points in the first half, and after that they only gave up a lucky bomb to Alshon Jeffery. "The run defense looks incredible, we struggled in that department against Green Bay. Our guys know a performance like that one against the Packers is just unacceptable" Coach Miller told the Media. Ever since then the defense has finally started to take form and could be given a cool defensive nickname if they keep it up.
The Vikings will play host to the Arizona Cardinals in week 6 in Minneapolis. They have a young rookie Quarterback in Josh Rosen they hope to rattle early and often. Also David Johnson is no slouch so the front seven better be ready for battle against that animal they call David. Coach Miller and his team are looking to keep improving as the season goes on, and keep the offensive and defensive momentum they had going in Philadelphia.
