Finally, SFL season is back and the Eagles showed that there coming to compete this year. Atlanta traveled into Lincoln Finacial Field to kickoff the new season in what turned out to be a shocking game. Carson Wentz looked great throwing for 273 yards and 3 TDs, 2 of which to Mike Wallace who went on to have 109 yards on the day. No matter how great the offense looked, on the other side of the ball the Eagles defense was playing out of their minds. Totaling 8 sacks and 4 interceptions on the day and holding one of the best offenses in the leauge scoreless until minutes left in the 4th quarter. The Falcons run game was made nonexistant only totalig for 25 yards, the defensive effort was led by Malcolm Jenkins and Nigel Bradham who combined for all 4 of the picks on the day. Looking forward we'll have to ask the question, is this Eagles team for real? Or was this just a week 1 fluke. We caught up with head coach Justyn Byrd to see what he had to say about the teams big week 1 win, "I felt like we went out there really prepared and we excucuted very well, the defense was playing great so that really helped when we struggling to put points on the board in the first few drives. When you have to start off the season against such a strong opennent like Atlanta and play this well it's really motivating and we're just gonna carry that momentum into next week." The Eagles will have to travel to Tampa Bay next week against the 1-0 Buccanears
