The Buffalo Bills are having a great start to the season as they go 3-0 in the AFC East. The team wanted to set themselves up to be a division competitor this season so the goal was to at least go 2-1 in the first three games, but the team went 3-0 and have set themselves up for a fight. They face the Jets again in three weeks prior to the bye week.
This game against the Jets was one that featured a lot of ugly offense from both teams. The Bills turned the football over four times. The Jets turned it over six times. Peterman had his worse game of the season thus far. After looking at the film he sees on two of the INT's had he just waited, and he had time, had he just waited it would have been complete to the WR but he threw it too early and it resulted in an interception for the Jets.
The defense shined this game scoring 14 points and making Bridgewater's day completely forgettable. Let's look at the highlights.
The Jets took the lead at the half and on their first possession out of the half, 2nd year MLB Solomon Dunndee, dove sideways for an interception of a Bridgewater pass.
The 2nd year player was able to get off the turf and make his way around jets players.
His touchdown put the Bills up 21-17.
On the next drive, rookie OLB Biscuit Bennett picked off a Bridgewater pass in the flat.
With nothing but green pastures in front of him, the rookie put the Bills up 28-17 early third quarter.
Later in the 3rd, Solomon Dunndee recorded one of the Bills QB tackles in this contest. The other was split by Ben Heeney and Matthew Ambrose.
Later, Dunndee would grab his 2nd interception of the game, keeping the Jets out of the Bills endzone and off of the scoreboard in the 2nd half.
Not to be outdone, rookie OLB Biscuit Bennett also grabbed his 2nd INT of the game late in the 4th qtr to keep the Jets off the scoreboard.
Finally, Devrin McDowell ended the game and while he thought about scoring for XP purposes, he just dropped to the floor to end it.
Ben Heeney also picked up an interception in this contest to take the Bills defensive total to 11 as they tie with division foe the Patriots for the league lead. The team would like to up its QB tackle totals but realize they've faced two stellar offensive lines in back to back weeks.
The team is back at practice today in preparation for the St. Louis Rams.
