It was a season that started out focusing on QB Nathan Peterman and Rookie TE J.T Roach. Initially, things worked out in the first three games as Peterman was the least tackled QB in the league. But that changed rather quickly in week 4 in a rematch with the Jets where Peterman was dropped 8 times. Then the concern about the OL began.
The team would not get better in the trenches as they failed to open running lanes for McCoy and company. Everything started falling apart from the trenches. When you can't win in the trenches, you are not going to win. There were flashes in each game but there were too many breakdowns.
The team closed out the season against the Patriots where the battered Peterman didn't even make the contest due to being put on IR for a shoulder injury. So the team has a lot of tough decisions to make going forward. The only bright spot for the Bills was the defense.
2nd year CB Gordon Klein closed out the season against the Pats with a 2 INT performance as he tried to help the offense turn the tide in the game when it was close.
Here we see Klein snag his 2nd INT of the game. The Bills picked off rookie Saracen 3 times but the offense couldn't generate any points.
Ikeem Ives was recorded the only QB tackle of the game.
And Jordan Poyer got the third interception.
It's sad to see McCoy go out like this but this was his last season as a Bill. He's played out his contract and given his performance in crunch time in pivotal games this season the coaches had already decided that he's done. So Taliafero will now be penciled in as the starter going forward, especially after Duke Johnson's 3 fumble performance against NE in the final game of the season.
The Front Office has some tough decisions on how to build the offense going forward.
