No Playoffs For the Bills

The Buffalo Bills have been eliminated from Playoff contention for the second season in a row.  The offense has been a roller coaster.  Some games they show up other games they do not.  This is an identity problem that will most likely not get fixed this season.  The team prefers to run the football but blocking is an issue and McCoy has put the football on the ground at critical moments more than any coach would like.

 

The defense has had a mixed two weeks.  They played mediocre against the Broncos but bounced back admirably against the Eagles.  Against the Broncos Peterman was dropped 7 times.  Against the Eagles, he was dropped 3 times.  The surprising thing about those stats is the team actually used more max protection against the Broncos than they did against the Eagles.  But alas, the team is out of the playoffs again.

 

Defensive Highlights vs Denver Broncos

 

 

Gordon Klein snagged his 3rd interception of the season.  Klein has the luxury of being targeted more than White so he gets more interception opportunities.  

 

 

Shaq Lawson continues to find his spot on the defense as he gets to Elway Jr, accumulating his 4th QB tackle on the season.

 

Easton Price and Akeem Ives combine to drop Elway Jr.  The play resulted in Price's first QB tackle since signing with the team as a UDFA.

 

Marcel Dareus got his 6th QB tackle on the season and is 2nd on the team in QB Tackles.

 

Ikeem Ives has been a force off the edge since transitioning to defensive end.

 

Defensive Highlights vs Eagles

 

Solomon Dunndee continues to have a strong rookie campaign as he snagged his 3rd interception of the season.

 

Zack Paup started off slow but the rookie has been making strides as a pass rusher the last four weeks.

 

Matthew Ambrose picked up his 6th QB tackle on the season.

 

 

Ikeem Ives picked up his 8th QB tackle on the season and has made a successful transition to defensive end.

 

 

Quinton Dunbar got to Wentz on this nickel blitz added to the team QB tackle total of 8 for the game.

 

Gordon Klein snagged his 4th interception of the season and he would have gotten a 5th but it was negated by a roughing the passer call.

 

 

Preston Brown snagged his sixth interception of the season in the 2nd half on a pass intended for HB Donnell Pumphrey.

 

 

Jordan Poyer snagged his second interception of the game as the team picked off Wentz 6 times.

 

Zack Paup recorded his second QB tackle of the game and continues to put together a good rookie campaign.

 

The Bills will just play the season out and get ready for the offseason to see how they can improve the team.
