AFC Playoff Projections
1. KC Chiefs
2. Cleveland Browns
3. Indianapolis Colts
4. NY Jets
5. Houston Texans
6. Oakland Raiders
- KC has a tougher 2H schedule than 1H but I don’t see more 1-2 losses for them.
- Cleveland has some tough games including Jets this week. Win and they’ll take #2 seed, lose and they could fall as far as #4 or WC depending on Bengals games.
- Colts made a statement win over Houston. Indy has been rocking and rolling this season. They could honestly push for the #1 spot if the Chiefs stumble.
- Jets have proved he is a threat to win a SB here. He will take the AFC East more than likely. Big game with Browns this week could cause a shakeup in potential seedings though.
You can take those 4 teams and place them in any order honestly. But I feel those will be the 4 teams from the AFC that win their div, seedings can be debated.
Wildcard Teams in AFC - Houston and Oakland.
-Houston apparently can’t get over the Indy block. Other teams they have no trouble rolling through because of this I have them as the #5 seed.
- Oakland will make the playoffs and be very dangerous. They won H2H over Houston but I project Oak to lose more games in the 2H of the season than Houston. So Oak will slide in at the #6 spot.
Bubble Teams in AFC :
New England Patriots
Cincinnati Bengals
Realistically the only two teams that will push for the WC spots will be the 2 teams listed above.
Pats are sitting
at 4-2 and Cincy is 6-1.
- Pats still play the Jets twice and a few other teams that will likely give them a L. They could surprise a few games I have them losing or win the toss up games i see and push for the #5/6 spot.
- Bengals play Browns twice and I’m not ready to crown Cincy the king of the north. The Browns aren’t dumb and I think he has/will make the adjustments for the problems the Bengals have created. Also Bengals seem to have a few random L’s they shouldn’t have, aka Ravens blowout last season.
NFC Playoff Picture
1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
3. Minnesota Vikings
4. Arizona Cardinals
5. Philadelphia Eagles
6. New Orleans Saints
- Dallas has shown up so far and rolled out to a perfect record. They still have some NFC East battles that could shake this projection up but we can’t focus on what ifs.
- Tampa Bay has proved to be the real deal. Only one loss to the projected 5/6 seed in the AFC (AFC>NFC). Bucs have some big games left on schedule such as Saints and Falcons in their division.
- Minnesota has some good wins and seem to have Madden luck on their side this season. (Losing star players and games drop) I know this will catch some heat but he has a game up on GB already and could possibly sweep GB an Chi.
- Arizona is so hard to gauge. Very inconsistent play that really makes me wonder what changes for him. Regardless this is an easy pick for the #4 spot because 2/3 other teams are on AP.
Lots of season left and some huge games remain for these 4 teams but I feel like they are the top 4 teams in the NFC. I’m 90% sure the NFC falls exactly like this on the top 4.
Wildcard Teams in NFC :
Philadelphia Eagles
New Orleans Saints
- Philadelphia has good talent and user skills and some guarantee wins on the schedule. On the flip side they already lost to NYG and have to play Dallas twice, at the very best, they split. Also have to factor in other silly shit the Eagles could pull and miss games.
- New Orleans is a big surprise this season. Jumping out to a 4-2 record and preforming like the Saints of old. Big win over ATL already put them in great position for a playoff game. Has remaining div games that are tough however.
Bubble teams in NFC :
Atlanta Falcons
Green Bay Packers
NY Giants
- Start off with Atlanta and the big surprise is they probably won’t make the playoffs, doubt that has ever happened but it’s a reality now. Sitting at 3-4 they can’t afford more than 2-3 more losses. Luckily a 9-7 team can likely make the playoffs in NFC again this year.
- Green Bay is sitting
at 3-3 with Dallas this week. Won’t count out the Packers but the likelihood is they hold another L and go to 3-4. That puts them on same boat as Atlanta, minus the never missing the playoffs part. I won’t repeat myself on the record.
- NY Giants are 4-3 and got a nice win over Philly to give them the advantage on any tiebreaks. The only issue with Giants is will he play his games. That’s been a reoccurring theme it seems but it’s what holds him back. If he plays and takes interest he can be a good player and challenge for a playoff spot.
I feel really solid on the NFC projections, the top 4 is almost a guarantee, but there is a lot of football left in the SFL.
