Week 1 of Season 3 is here and the Minnesota Vikings took on their rival Green Bay Packers. The Packers are the defending Kings of the North as the Vikings had some problems last season. "We wanted to go out there and show we are getting that crown back" said newly acquired Quarterback Jared Goff. Adam Theilen was injured midway through the game, and rookie Reciever David Sills V stepped up. He had 7 catches for 92 yards in his NFL debut. He was quoted as saying "When Adam went down we just have the next man up mentality here so I stepped up and did my job to the best of my abilities"
It was your typical NFC North battle as both teams fought hard, and was a one score game all game long. Late in the 4th quarter the game was tied 20-20 and Jared Goff and the crew led a game winning drive. With 54 seconds on the clock the Vikings faced a crucial 3rd and 3. They lined up in the Wildcat, and Dalvin Cook used a hard count and drew the Pack offsides to set up the game winning field goal as time would expire.
Rookie kicker Allen Lloyd lined up for the easy game winner, and drilled it right down the middle as time ran out. Coach Miller said after the game "We've had our problems in the kicking game. We drafted Allen to get rid of those problems as he did a damn good job today." The Vikings stand at 1-0 and will be at home for another division game against Chicago in Week 2.
