1st rd - 78 ovr RE Mitchell Shipley from Oklahoma
?Really excited getting a player of this caliber past the midway point of the 1st rd. He will start at RE and allows us to move Veteran Melvin Ingram around for matchups.

1st rd - 77 ovr CB Lamarcus Leroy from Nebraska
?Wasn't the player we was looking for but he was 2nd on our CB board and we felt he could come in and play Nickel CB as a rookie and possibly get rid of the slow dev.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd rd - 70 ovr CB Sefa Smelter from Southern Miss
?After we felt we reached on Leroy we came back and took our #3 CB on the board in Smelter. He has the height and speed to take away the deep ball that the SFL loves so dearly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd rd - 72 ovr RG Khairi Garrett from Kansas
?Another reach in this round. We felt he was going to be much better than what he is. We passed on several of our guys ahead of him because we was afraid he wouldn't be there in the 3rd rd. He will be a definite project. Great news is he won't be asked to play any.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3rd rd - 68 ovr WR Najee Douglas from University of Penn
?Initially we were pissed that we had ANOTHER bad pick once we saw Douglas bio. That all changed after the 2nd preseason game. He was unguardable by the CPU. I'm thinking our initial projections of Douglas were right and his Madden awareness is the only reason for the low overall. Look for Douglas to play the #4 and 5 spot in the WR rotation.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4th rd - 72 ovr RT Taven Pearson from Oregon
He isn't the worst 4th rounder we have ever taken but we did expect more when we drafted Pearson. Once again the low awareness hampers his overall but he has decent strength and can easily get his RBK and PBK to 80. Another OL that we will try and develop while he watches.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5th rd - 76 ovr RB Alex Drayton from Illinois State
We feel like Drayton was the steal of the draft. He was projected 7th rounder and we took him in the 5th. Only having one RB on the roster is the only reason the Chargers looked at Drayton here and what a pay off. He's considered the #3 overall player in this draft. He will play a lot for LAC. Expect a new Thunder and Lightning combo
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7th rd 73 ovr RG Reggie Peters from Colorado
Getting Peters in the 7th was a nice find. He won't be asked to play this season but hopefully we can develop him along the way. He will easily be an 80+ ovr OL after this season.
