The 2018 season was yet another one to forget about when it comes to the Carolina Panthers.
Fans and the team themselves fell into a hole early in the year when they stumbled out the gate to the tune of a 1-7 record. Things on both sides of the ball were troublesome, but their defense is what stuck out most.
Carolina gave up the 3rd most points to teams over the course of 2018 and their secondary struggled for the second straight year, allowing almost 300 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks.
The offense for this team wasn't anything to write home about either. Cam Newton and company struggled to put numbers on the board, ranking at 24th when it came to points per game. The passing attack was also one of the worst in the league, and it showed with Newton recording 27 interceptions on the year.
Christian McCaffery was the one bright spot for this team though in 2018, coming in as the leagues 4th best runner with 1,118 yards. The second year man also added 632 yards through the air on 63 catches.
Moving forward this team knows exactly where it needs to improve, it may take some big moves being made this off-season, most noteably the shopping of star wideout Kelvin Benjamin, but Carolina is in a position where it's now or never if they want to see improvement.
