The Arizona Cardinals have had a season filled with ups and downs. After a promising 2-1 start, the Cards went on the road and took their lumps. Perhaps their worst defeat came Week 9 in Green Bay. The Packers stormed back from a three possession deficit in the 4th quarter to defeat the Cardinals 28-26 with Aaron Rodgers throwing the winning TD as time expired. Despite falling to 2-6, that loss lit a fire under the young Cardinals team. Coach Ed Hernandez told his team "Every game is a playoff game from here on out. We know what we have to do". The Cards returned home in Week 10, and ironically defeated the 49ers in the same fashion that they were defeated in Green Bay. Rookie quarterback Devrin Gholston threw a touchdown strike to Michael Thomas for the win as time expired. The Cards have since defeated the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs on the road, and most recently defeated the Los Angeles Rams at home to get back to .500 at 6-6. The Cardinals will still need a lot of help in order to earn a playoff berth, but the team is playing with a lot of heart and determination. They will finish the season with four games at home, with the tough Los Angeles Chargers coming to town next week coming off of a loss to the Denver Broncos.
